The Blind Pig's bookings are so much worse than they were even just three years ago. The Crofoot/Pike Room killed it.

Getting to Pontiac from Ann Arbor blows so much too. I'd rather go to the Magic Stick any day. The Crofoot itself is a really solid venue though.

Was pretty chuffed to score tickets for the sold out St Vincent show at the intimate little pike room, only for them to smell money and move it to the eagle theatre and release a ton more tickets.

Yeah, I believe that. I just remember that I used to be able to catch one or two nationally-known bands there a month my freshman and sophomore years (2004-2006). Like Yo La Tengo, Dino Jr, Silver Jews, etc.

it really pisses me off that there are no decent venues in ann arbor. it seems really really wrong for a college town with 40,000 students, another 22,000 within fifteen minutes and at least another 50,000 within an hour.

gotta say though. One saturday i saw damien juardo supported by laura gibson, both fairly well known folky indie artists and the blind pig was dead. I dont know if they promote badly or the spoilt rich kids just prefer lady gaga nowadays.

the blind pig is a decent, maybe even great venue with good sound. too bad they can't attract any talent. who is the asshole managing that place? during my 3 years at U of M, I was able to see maybe 4 good shows.

crofoot ballroom is the best venue i've ever been to. i'm so happy when bands decide to play there.

Word on the street is that Crofoot stole the magic sticks band booker.

I would be a happy fellow if the pig stole them back. Ann arbor surely would pull more fans than pontiac...

well yea ann arbor is much better to visit than pontiac. I still don't think the pig beats the crofoot though. the sound system and atmosphere of the crofoot is really something special.

for some reason I thought the owners of the majestic/magic stick built the crofoot.

That's because the people who did the booking at the stick went to the crofoot.

is it really that hard to book bands? i mean, does it take some kind of special talent to attract decent music to a college town?
