This is interesting and probably explains my own choice of Chromatics over Glass Candy.

Sometimes I forget that Chromatics were a shouty post-punk band at first.

after in the city glass candy has the best tracks on after dark and they never really impressed me after that

i still listen to night drive though, so i tend to think chromatics is the better band.

"Hands in the Dark" is wonderful too.

The actual In the City album though looks really great on vinyl.

Italians Do It Better know how to package albums. Oh and their rendition of "I'm On Fire" is flawless.

personally i wouldn't hesitate to say that chromatics/glass candy definitely shifted me away from that embarrassing p4k canon and received wisdom i adhered to as an impressionable 15 year old. with the kickstart from people like rentboy and j_brooks, i lept into house and disco music and it paid dividends.
