hell yeah. such a long, drifting album, this is really excellent.

was hoping they had it in them. half of what made Night Drive impressive was the stylistic shift. they'd lead up to it with a number of singles, but I mean it's hard not to see the album as minimal almost to the point of slightness -- editing themselves down too carefully, not taking enough chances. this completes their transformation.

did not expect to like this a lot because in general i'm a much bigger fan of their older stuff but this album is really really great.
the only thing that annoys the shit out of me is the use of autotune/vocoder in some of the songs.
