I don't expect anyone to actually read this, but it warrants posting the entire introduction.
6. The expectations to be like Batman
The point of the ad is to portray by drinking milk, Batman is strong and buff. I believe that this is geared mainly toward men because when they see this ad then they will think that they can do anything that Batman does. I think that this is also geared toward children because they look up to him and have the expectation to be like him one day. In the ad by drinking milk Batman shows mainly children and men that being fit, strong, and intimidating is easy. This is easily done because you are getting the proper nutrients and protein, according to the text in the middle of Batman’s body, to get strong and buff like him because milk. According to Douglas B. Holt, “milk was the key to good health particularly for children. It is linked back to the dairy farms on the countryside, where it is healthier both hygienically and morally.” Looking at the ad overall, it shows that Batman is a strong, buff, and healthy man. His suit helps convey that because it potentially portrays his body underneath of his suit. The colors of the ad show that Batman might be on top of a building and he is giving a certain look of intimidation to show that he is watching over everything. This look is not only challenging but is also encouraging for those men and children that are looking at this ad to become good and strong like him.
I stand with addison in that I will not be assimilated into the board monoculture.
