Diablo III

Jesus christ you have to be kidding me.

Metalli it's more a beta than a demo, so they could bug-test and tweak the game. I don't think it was ever intended to demonstrate the breadth of gameplay you'll see. This is 1/4 of the 1st act btw

i don't have a problem with the graphics or tone, i do however have a problem with the lack of innovation in the gameplay. frankly, it feels almost exactly like Torchlight. the skills are a little different than D2, but what else is there?

so it turns out I'll need a new gfx card for this. since I'm on a mac, that means this game will essentially cost like $300.

wait i thought you needed lion.

I bought Diablo II earlier today. The respawning in the camp might be too much for my impatient ass to take.

it'll run lion, but i can just run it in bootcamp. that's how I meet the minimum gfx card specs for sc2

i wonder how replayable d3 is going to be w/ every build on one character at all times.

well, with the increasing difficulties and hardcore mode, you should be able to get plenty out of it. play normal with one build, respec for hell/nightmare etc. if you'd like

and of course there's the inevitable expansion pack or two

i honestly don't understand this sentiment. at the very least you have one of each character and massive endgame potential which is at the very least on par (if not better than) diablo 2. ultimately it comes down to gear/items and people will keep playing to make their characters even better.

I think you just have to find a game started by whomever on the right server (US East, west, etc).

replay value comes from playing different builds, not from creating new characters so that you can create new builds. the amount of time leveling from 1-80 in D2 to make a new build of a particular class is negligible in terms of extending replay value. all it does is get rid of that annoying necessity of having to re-level

My post came across way more negative than i intended, but i liked making mew characters. Unless i misunderstand, u only need one of each class now and all options are open.

god i played this way too fucking much. didn't check out monk or wizard but was doing some insane damage with demon hunter and witch doctor. will definitely start as one of those when the game is out. i probably beat the skeleton king 70 times jesus. gave away all my items to some kid to make sure i don't try to play tomorrow.

Yeah I don't think I'll have anymore time to play this weekend but kicking the shit out of monsters with the monk was awesome. She looks kind of like Elastica too, so.

Well builds are going to be fairly customization/item/gem/rune/nehpalem valor dependent. Yeah you can re-spec skills, but I expect most people will stick to one build for most of the time. If you want to respec in inferno, it's gonna mean getting a whole new set of gear to optimize the new skillset you want. I see a lot of potential to have cookie cutter builds but I also see a lot more niche builds being viable than in D2.

Bummed to lose this at the end of the weekend.
