MLB 2012: Could It Have Been Anymore Gay

Jesus christ you have to be kidding me.

It's so nice to see Morneau on pace for 30 HRs again. It's been a while.

Now if only they can keep up this stretch of uncharacteristic poise from their starters

I have this nagging sense of dread that Buxton is going to be a huge bust and they basically fucked themselves by not going after a guy like Appel that can start helping while they still have a core of players to build around on the offensive spectrum, thereby resigning this team to mediocrity for the foreseeable future.

But then, maybe every top pitching prospect turns out to be Adam Johnson and Buxton is the next Bo Jackson.

so what was he freaking out over? I didn't see the whole at bat, just the actual hit.

Little late with the Santana no-no, but as a long-suffering Met fan, it was awesome to see. They probably won't be able to sustain their record with that bullpen, but I really like the team this year. They play hard, they come back pretty frequently, and they have some decent young players.

Now that the Wilpons have seemingly for the most part resolved the Madoff bs, they had better resign Wright. He's their only marquee position player, and even if it's a bit of a financial burden for those schmucks, it's worth it for ticket sales/branding/not alienating the fan base that hasn't already jumped ship.

He was freaking out over pitch #4.

Please note that since it was Dee Gordon at the plate, pitch #4 was at chin level.

so the poor guy was a replacement ump

It's just like anybody's job. If I don't do my job, I go down to Triple A. There's no room for that up here. It's not a knock on the umpires. It's the integrity of the game. You want to be able to go out there and play the game the way it should be played. All night long, from [Dodgers starter Clayton] Kershaw to [Phillies starter] Vance [Worley], all the way to the ninth inning, it affected the outcome of the game.

Not the worst I've ever seen, although that ball in the middle of the RHH zone makes me laugh.

After years of abuse the team is finally trying to keep Cole and taking off nights when Cliff plays.

Was really hoping that the retarded bunt attempt Mattingly had Gwynn lay out in the 8th would come back and bite him (it did for two outs) but sometimes things just aren't fair.

We've secretly replaced your regular Colby Rasmus with a MLB calibre hitter. Let's see if anyone notices.

Fortunately gehrig and I (and my brother) were there to witness this disaster first-hand.

It was actually less depressing than watching that happen on television usually is. I'd never seen them lose in person before.
