I was going to say "Imagine if McCartney's granny music had sounded like that."

But then I remembered that that's actually like the second-best song on an album that also contains "Student Demonstration Time."

Occasionally I just get stuck listening to the first two songs on Sunflower over and over.

You have to be careful though because then Mike Love comes along telling you that "the Sunday morning gospel goes good with the soul."

I think one of the problems I have with "the most personal Beatles album" is that it's hard to like the Beatles as people.

I guess Ringo was pretty cool.

But I keep thinking of it in terms of Something Else by the Kinks and realizing that I'm just never going to like Lennon in the same way that I like Ray Davies.

Well I thought the appeal was supposed to be that they were all doing their own thing and so it was sort of a look into each of their heads.

I mean I still like pretty much all of it. It's just you're listening to it right next to everything else they did and..."Birthday."

Did you ever notice that the heel in "Be True to Your School" never even says anything bad about Mike Love's school?
