NFL Draft 2012

Jesus christ you have to be kidding me.

Postby dcm » Wed Apr 25, 2012 4:59 pm

last year's thread hit 24 pages so it seems reasonable to split this off from the offseason thread

tomorrow night at 7pm est i believe

what we know:

- luck to colts
- RGIII to skins

vikings would be brain dead to not take kalil, but they're apparently considering morris claiborne (possibly just saying this to try and scare the bucs into trading up for richardson, bypassing the browns).

i am excite

i've (barely) read comparisons to him possibly being an urlacher type. but his recent rise has been pretty crazy. bucs are targeting trent and claiborne 1-2, and may trade up to #3 if they actually think the vikings could take claiborne. highest i've heard kuechly mocked was like #8 and that was this morning.

The kuechly rise feels like it just comes from his position. You can get outside guys anywhere in the draft but he is the only middle linebacker worth anything.

i know an embarrassingly little amount on the prospects the packers are possibly targeting. i would be ecstatic with upshaw but there has to be a <5% chance he's there. otherwise i like mcclellin and harrison smith from ND on the surface

nick perry is another guy i like but he seems to be falling for whatever reason.

i think after clay/raji broke out i basically just said fuck it cause ted is a savant and stopped hyping myself up for packers picks.

i really want the packers to take russell wilson in the late rounds if we do plan on drafting rodgers backup. otherwise I think if we help our d-line/linebacking through the first couple of rounds (jerel worthy, devon still, mcclellin, perry, ect.) we should be a much better team defensively this year

Wilsons gonna go in the 3rd/4th. Doubt we take him.

It's made worse out here. 2nd/3rd start at 4PM PST Friday while most are still at work. The rest starts at 9AM PST Saturday and will probably be over by Noon. Shitty.

Anyway, I will be happy with either Claiborne or Richardson for the Bucs. I guess Fletcher Cox would be OK (if not very sexy) but if both are actually gone I'd rather see them trade down a bit.

He's only being projected to the Bucs by Mel Keiper because to him Claiborne & Richardson will be gone by #5 according to him. If both do disappear on #4 and #5 I think there's no way they can pass on Kalil. A trade down would be more preferable in a situation like that though. I'd prefer Richardson to Claiborne but either would be great and an instant upgrade.

And that radio show taking the piss out of Gruden is amazing. Tears of laughter listening to it.

I was wearing a Far Side t-shirt when he came over. "I bet you didn't think I was the sort of person who wore t-shirts," I told him. (Our school had a dress code.) "I have three."

I could see how e-mailing the wrong person about sexy bathtime could be embarrassing.
