Let's talk Aguachile Alley

I only listened to one Film Comment podcast. It was good, though the host (not Pinkerton, though he was on it) kept talking over people.

I was planning on picking up L'Eclisse too, but on B&N, it's listed at $38.34. What gives?

Too many killer box sets lately
I've already picked up Indicator's Boetticher and Fuller sets, Arrow's The Complete Sartana...

and now Dietrich/Von Sternberg calls to me.

Maybe I'll wait until November.

I got Breakfast Club, The Silence of the Lambs, and The Age of Innocence. I kinda buy all the most mainstream Criterions lately.

Night of the Living Dead is meant to be watched on public access at midnight, or seen in the background of another horror movie where it's being played on public access at midnight.

i've actually only seen Seventh Seal so i'm not likely to blind buy this, but $150 for that set if gotten during the sale seems like a sweet deal

Yeah, and that's probably my favorite of his. Almost picked up The Virgin Spring last night but am glad I held off.

I just mean I'll order it right now if it's on the sale vs. waffling for 2 months and then finally giving in and spend $240 on physical media despite owning like 7 of the films already because I want it so bad.

Yeah the restoration is definitely a diff experience. Though, weirdly, the low production and B-movie aspects come out even stronger in some ways because now you can see clearly how shitty the sets were and how stilted much of the acting was. and this mixture of horror and schlock was part of romero and team's vision for the film. the scene where a zombie approaches the farmhouse in daylight looks jank as hell in the new version but weirdly works for those reasons
