he really doesnt seem anywhere close to conscious or self aware. he just looks confused and vacant.

same as in the interviews.

did he look like that before he got busted or was he trying to pass as human and then got caught and gave up?

i'm sure this has been discussed at length, but i couldn't imagine he hasn't been this way for years. maybe he bought into some hopeless delusion a long time ago, as i imagine many charismatic pedophiles do, but maybe not. maybe he's not all there. i don't know, but it's irresponsible of someone like jeffrey toobin to go with the standard "evil, evil man" bullshit while ignoring the other signs. yeah, he's gonna die in prison if anyone gets the chance, but the moment you glorify this is the moment you put yourself in sandusky's world while the harder, lingering questions wash away by your side

i just think hes just detached and disassociated from reality in a really schocking way, and my question, as someone who didnt know of him prior to this is what was his public persona like prior to getting caught?

i'm not the sort whos calling for blood or hoping he gets killed in prison at all.

i'm with you there, though. i brought up toobin's comments because it was on my mind and it's irresponsible in light of just the thing you brought up. based on the interviews sandusky's given since this thing broke, he's beyond cut off from reality. that he could be that oblivious for a lifetime and still hold a job and family life is not out of the question, so it becomes a matter of addressing any implications there. how does he process his sexual attraction? how does he process any basic information? is he so caught up in self-made justifications that any guilt becomes secondary, buried beneath an artifice of a man? or does he even understand guilt like we might? does he possess functioning emotional intelligence? is the case of an evil man? is it something else? obviously he's manipulative, but in exactly what way is what i'm getting at.
