the more i listen to/familiarize myself with The Blue Nile, the more amped i am for her being influenced by them.

maybe if we banter about jessie her album will leak for the weekend.

spinning my devotion vinyl for the first time in a while. it's a pretty consistent album, reminds me distinctly of driving around my hometown.

who is benzel and what else did he produce?

didn't realize miguel contributed to a couple tracks on this. as with most releases i'm anticipating a lot, i limited my exposure to singles and general info around the album before it was available. not sure why i'm like that.

i'm the same way, sometimes feel like im cheating myself if i listen to a single too much and then it doesn't have as big of an impact in the context of the album. pretty lame but :barney:

really looking forward to hearing this tonight!

yeah i think that's exactly it, i don't want to dampen the impact of the full album. i also prefer to hear things in higher quality than is afforded by live performances, youtubes and the ilk.

i never followed up on this post.

we saw her primary performance at a fairly big old theatre. it felt very warm and close, not a huge crowd and she was all about the fan interaction.

then we heard she would be giving an acoustic performance at a small club after midnight, so we showed up. it was some type of industry event, but we gave off airs that we were supposed to be there and after a moment of hesitation they let us in. i got to see her sing from like 6 feet away. she played basically all of devotion. here are some pics of that night taken by the promoters... my and my pals at the end :D

devotion this ain't. some of it is just confirming a fear i had going in - she's got serious MOR tendencies

say you love me and want your feeling are just bad.

thankfully it's a decent enough album that it'll probably keep me interested, but there's just nothing on the level of sweet talk, 110%, something inside..

lol yeah i'm pretty sure. she had her hair pulled back is all. she does have one of those faces that looks different depending on the angle... she's sorta weird looking in a cute way.
