This is just OK and does not really play to her strengths but I think it will still be a big album for her and I'm glad for that

I wish she had put out an album more akin to 'Little Red' by Katy B, which was a more mainstream move for her but lost none of her original appeal

kinda disappointed at first but most of this album has grown on me, just like the first album was a grower for me as well

only track i don't really dig at this point is "Pieces"

have to agree re. this song. don't really dig some of the chord changes. it feels like it's going for a certain vibe at the start and then veers into another, somewhat incongruous vibe.

imo the clear highlight is "keep on lying." those harmonies.
pitchfork was harsh on this if i think about it - probably more in my own personal ~8ish range.

finally got a chance to really listen to it in its entirety yesterday and i dunno i really like it

tbh there's more songs i don't really like on devotion than this. this albums more consistent imho.

I agree with this entirely. After several listens, top to bottom it's pretty solid, especially the deluxe edition.
