There are some restrictions around it though right? Gotta be a reason I never see bikes on the tube
Seconding the DLR being fun to ride btw

Has anyone been to the Tove Jansson exhibition? There's a Black Friday sale on Virgin trains so I'm gonna try and get some cheap tickets so I can do a daytrip and come see it, probably early January. Anything else on around then that I should see?
Thanks, admin.

he made so many people mad
makes sense that they're not allowed in the deep tunnel sections
also can't imagine anyone bothering to wrestle a bike up and down the stairs
relatedly, it's really shitty how so few stations have step-free access!

usually not tooo expensive and there's decent stuff + relatively easy access into central london

i like libraries and old book stores, and riding trains. it seems like there's a whole lot of towns you can reach within an hour's train ride from london. so can y'all recommend any and all libraries, book stores, etc. but especially libraries, to visit in london and within an hour of london? is visiting the libraries at oxford cool?
also, there's the national computer museum in milton keynes, is that town worth a visit otherwise?

I've never actually stopped in Milton Keynes but it's kind of a national joke, with something about roundabouts generally being the punchline. Unless you're interested in the concept behind that sort of postwar town planning I'd skip it, and if you are you may as well go to one of the nicer New Towns like Welwyn Garden City.
It is mating season for the pterosaurs, and this well-endowed male wants YOU to fly with him.

i've only been in ldn a few months so my reccs might be limited but judd books & skoob books (down the st from each other) are decent second hands near kings cross, and libreria in brick lane is okay.

Joe McPhee is playing two shows at cafe oto this week, saw him last time he came there and it was killer. Moth club has stuff most nights but I don't really recognize this week's shows. If youre here til the weekend there's unsound and that Sophie thing on Friday night, Carla dal forno at new River studios on Saturday. It's a bad time to have no fucking money.

if you're here before the 10th go see the Arthur Jafa thing at the Strand

Also really recommend this if you haven't seen it.

Yeah everyone's been telling me to see the Everythinf at Once show at Strand. Space looks p amazing.
And yeah I want to hit up that Sophie party on the wknd for sure.
I dunno how you Londoners afford the outrageous cost of public transit here tho. tons of stuff to see but I'm going to be broke from just riding buses and 'tubes

yeah, it sucks
if you aren't worried about taking a while to get somewhere, you could just start taking buses everywhere
bus fare is capped at £4.50 for the day
this way you'll save on money and explore more

Bus fares are way cheaper in London than in other parts of this damn country, especially with the new hopper fare

You could go on a tour of the Bodleian:
http://www.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/whatson/visit/tours/info. Oxford is just generally incredible if you like the ancient knowledge vibe. Go and see the University Museum and the Pitt Rivers
For London, the British Library is obviously great and I also found one that's new to me in Conway Hall. Free to visit, little-known and a beautiful room. Plus you can climb onto the roof and check out the beehives
