damn that looks gorgeous. god i wish i could go out west!!!

i know not many us are active here but is anyone close to ontario?? i moved here and know no one and also the gym i go to is getting shut down by the end of the year. it sucks because it's a real special, one of a kind gym. super old school DIY and a beautiful building, but welp gonna be torn down!!

Anyone have experience buying shoes with split sizes? Evolv is the only brand offering it online from what I can see and it's just hella lame it costs an extra $30. I figure local shops and used are prob my best options, but figured I'd throw this out into the void

Bishop then New Mexico (Roy and Ortegas), maybe a stopover in Hueco, then Red Rocks. Depending on weather, might head to Yosemite for a bit. And if I am feeling fit I will probably spend some time around SoCal trying to finish up projects that have eluded me.

So my hometown local sport crag is pretty small and has a small community that organizes trail days, clean up, bolting funds, etc. It also has a Facebook group where people take things way too seriously and and have such petty arguments about safe technique. often it's old trad dudes coming out of the woodwork but there are like maybe two trad lines and they are shit, the rock is choss. The only section worth a damn is in great condition with frequent upkeep. The only issue is graffiti and police using the place for target practice and too much damn garbage

Fucking hell

I've been climbing sandstone in Alabama for the last four days and having a blast. The weather has been perfect. My fingers are toast

Quixotic is in Ottawa. I think it's been a few months since he was last in the climbing gym. You might want to hit him up.

I'm gonna try and follow a training program for a while. On my trip last week there were a bunch of moments where I felt decent but could tell I need to be hangboarding, building endurance, power, power endurance, etc etc etc

had one of those gym sessions today where my hands are throbbing several hours later

gonna start spending some time on the Moon Board. Currently trying to work through the benchmark V3s, trying to flash as many as I can. Assume I will very quickly run out of flashable problems.

have climbed 12 problems for a total of 5,880 points. I am currently ranked 4224th 8-)

Anybody wanna compete?

i kind of hate the moonboard. it makes my fingers feel like they are all going to break. i vastly prefer the tension board. still haven't tried a kilter board but that looks pretty sick too.

I'm still mostly on the juggier holds. Would love to try those other boards, haven't seen one in person yet

i thought i was just being grumpy after watching free solo when it came out, but i thought the dude came of as a shitbag and mildly emotionally abusive to his gf. it's now clear the dude is a soulless monster.

to be clear i hate his girlfriend she seems thoroughly awful, but my god just break up with her and live how you want to live and stop punishing her for changing your life.

If your partner is holding you back from greatness because she wants unreasonable things like to live in a home with you and to go for ice cream then end the relationship. It's incredibly shitty to treat her like she's holding him back.

Why do you hate her, clouds? From the film and that interview she just seems like a normal person who loves someone that is incapable of giving her the same in return.
