never liked dead space but EA nonetheless continues to leave a giant pile of dead studios in its wake

a 10 year exclusive rights contract with Disney for Star Wars has thus far resulted in exactly 2 very fucking mediocre games and absolutely no RPGs or true story-based experiences
fuck EA

dead space 2 is the only good dead space game and i guess i only feel that way thanks to the funhouse appeal and weirdly moving story it tells in there, however dumb it appears on the surface. it's a game best played trashed, though
it's lousy what amy hennig must be going through

A friend of mine who is an engineer on the Star Wars game said that this was "for the best," and that the game's production was not going very well at all.

Pretty tempted to check out ELEX to be honest despite all the reviews calling it janky as hell.
THIS IMPACT WILL CONTROL ALL MARGINS

Anyone check out the nonary games collection? I'm debating ps4 or vita. I'd love to have it portable, but not sure how well it works on the smaller screen and would hate if the performance was significantly worse.

I did DOOM (on Ultra-Violence). it was pretty good, but got kinda repetitive at the end, once there no new regular bad guys to introduce (and all my weapons were crazy good, and I had the BFG, for which ammo was too plentiful). later levels with jump boots unlocked were more fun, and I thought it was bizarrely faithful to the spirit of the original--in a good way--except for the lore intrusion and "learn the moves" boss fights, which were .. okay? I'm glad the spider demon showed up almost exactly at the moment when I was like "hey whatever happened to the spider demon?"
the core combat loop rules (although glory kills are too abusable), and a lot of my fun came from doing challenges and weapon unlocks in the middle of locked room fights, so I liked those. it was a genuine pleasure to play an FPS that didn't want me to peek hitscan headshots from cover (although the scoped rifle is probably my favorite non-supershotgun weapon in DOOM).
I did the first level on the one-life Nightmare difficulty to see if that would be fun, decided it would be annoying, and then quit and uninstalled.
all set for Destiny 2!!

i do miss a few of the first game's quirks and especially its art direction (minus ruvik)

classic EA too. They own ultima. The own wing commander. they own Syndicate (don't mention the fps game). And The Saboteur too (though on this one it might be more of a personal thing as it didn't seem to do well but i loved it). Countless others i'm sure i forget. And what do they do with those IPs? Fucking jackshit. Oh wait, they did like a browser Ultima strategy game nobody ever heard of. And like some half assed arena WC game a few years ago. So yeah, fuck EA very much.
I must insist on being a pessimist, I'm a loner in a catastrophic mind

yeah, the ps3 version is largely a downport of the ps4 version. the ps4 version has framerate issues, and so the best way to play the game now is on a beefy pc, but it's gorgeous and as fun as ever on the console
