E3 has sort of brought it to a point but I've had a sort of meandering feeling about videogames lately. Like Hollow Knight is supposed to be good but it looks like another metroidvania to me, and I've played a bunch of those.

Think I need to take a break from game news to have a sort of break from thinking about games all the time, a little bit burnt out I guess (all on me). Plus it's cool coming back later because all the games are cheap.

I dunno, I'll still be itt so I'm not sure what I'm saying. I think I mostly mean I'm just going to stop keeping a running list of new games that are coming out in my head

I have plenty of games I'm looking forward to, def. Just feeling a little burnt out on how much brainspace I'm giving to thinking about when games come out, I guess

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2018/0 ... play-demo/

this sounds insane

Seamless or not, this city does look stunning. It seems almost GTA-like in its ambition. The crowds are large, and the amount of detail is almost overwhelming. At a glance it brings to mind the Prague of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided but seems more open, colourful, bustling and noisy. Bars are full of drinkers slumped over the counters, markets are busy with food stands, street cleaners block the pavement. At one point, we see a holographic police “caution” tape, cutting off a crime scene from the public. I think: “Oh yes, I’ve seen this in movies.” But then we also see a holographic reconstruction of the crime itself, a brutal assault (or murder?) playing out behind the tape for the benefit of the investigating cops. And look, I know, it’s a demo, it’s an E3 demo and they are choreographed and fine-tuned and designed to be flawless often at the expense of being truly representative of the finished thing. But MAN ALIVE, THIS CITY.

I might be delusional but the prospect of creating and managing a dinosaur zoo in the new jurassic park game sounds pretty appealing. not dropping 60 bucks on it but will look for a sale or used copy at some point

I thought that game looked bad at first, then i saw more and thought it looked like they were doing something decent with it, and then it came out and was reviewed and i was reminded Frontier's game designers are bad.

I also cannot get behind anyone saying Elder Scrolls is not good. It has not aged well in recent years and it needs a damn good revamp (get whoever is responsible for melee gameplay in Dying Light) but let's not pretend the vast majority of rpg players did not play AND loved at least one ES game in their lifetime.

And ANYWAY, as mentioned a bunch of times now, if you're doing shooting then 3rd person is not the best option.

Im super elitist against 3rd person views especially in anything featuring vehicles. Ideally i would never have to drive in 3rd person in any game ever.

I played the board game only twice and so i don't have a deep knowledge of the game or anything but i didn't really get the hype personally. My opinion is this game is mostly very popular because the art design is terrific. It's an ok board game otherwise but I've played much better ones.
