i feel like it's entirely possible to update this game graphically without losing its striking sense of style but it didnt happen

totally agree

did you mess with any of the filters and manage to recreate some of the hazy lighting to an extent?

okay but what about a battle royale game where you're divided into squads and each squad has an observer who is the one using cameras/manipulating the environment, and they're playing a supragame against the other observers to try and call out randomized loot locations, guide their squad to safety, avoid ambushes, create environmental hazards for other squads, etc.

also you're on a space station.

i could see pve working in BR as like an alternative to the blue zone DOT mechanic. if outside the zone, you're prone to monster attacks which are denser the further out you are/the later the game goes

but in general pubgs encounters are interesting to me because of its limitation of outside factors, not in spite of it. and i also think "is my positioning good" is super interesting in the context of a game

still down to try alternatives though

What if, hypothetically, instead of a circle, all players were funnelled toward some sort of large and dangerous pve monster, and they were forced to fight for the privilege of killing the monster for fun and profit

the tales series basically shines if you can find someone else willing to play a jrpg with you. then and only then. i think they have maybe the most generic plots/dialogue out of any jrpg i know of which is saying something.

speaking as someone that likes those games but doesn't worship them i liked the last guardian about as much as sotc. i've been wanting to revisit it laterly but eh i want to revisit lots of things. i'd like to see another ueda project that doesn't get stuck in development hell more than anything else.
My body like a back road. Not many people know about it. People talk to me and they go I didn't even know you have a body. They ask me about it and then they go Yeah you got arms and legs and everything. The only people that know I got a body are people I really like it's crazy

It ccrazy how people are born with bodies and stuff. Real crazy.

I like the red zone because it muffles so much sound and if you’re trapped in a house/compound with an enemy, it creates cool strategic possibilities

i totally forgot you could have other people drop in

the only one ive ever finished is symphonia (and i keep wanting to go back to that). i love the combat, i love the cooking, i love the collectibles, and i love the party chat, but the overall dialogue is so amazingly bad and the stories, yeah, just so so bland.

but they still rule imo
