My understanding is that nulDC isn't GREAT as far as emulators go, but it works well enough that you should be able to play through it without too much trouble. The arcade games might not work?

uh yeah, probably the best game of that generation man. there's a lot to chew on with the story atmosphere and gameplay. linearity is just another way to organize time, don't hate on that shit.
plus, a game with playable dystopian pittsburgh? sign me uppppp

Miss Drew so much. Met him at F1 last year, he's a swell fuckin' dude.

Got an Oculus Rift and been playing Elite again. Fetch quests are a lot more enthralling in VR, boy howdy.

i bought Seven: The Days Long Gone on a whim, had never heard of it until i was browsing gog and the action-y crpg vibe appealed to me so for $27 i pulled the trigger

long story short: don't buy this game

there are some neat ideas here but they are completely buried under crashes, questionable AI, nonsensical inventory management, and bewildering controls

it needs a major patch overhaul before i touch it again, which is too bad
i've been getting really into pestcest too lately. haven't really been able to find much good ant stuff, though. anybody have any links to some good biting vids/pics?

&& the dlc only improves on that.

the dlc is the best thing about tlou

still think about tevis thompson's 100 word review about it often:

My favorite videogame moment so far this year focuses on the face of a teenage girl – freckled, flushed, screen-lit. She’s playing a broken arcade machine with her eyes closed, listening to her best friend narrate a Street Fighter fantasy. It’s an act of trust, of shared imagination. And in this moment, Ellie is seen.

Left Behind repurposes its AAA mechanics – the shooting (of waterguns), the lobbing (of bricks at cars), the quick-time-event (her face) – not for domination or survival but connection. It left me longing for entire games of altered verbs. Of fumbling connections. Games of seeing and being seen.

it also lets you fuck up the mercs and the zombies in the same level

I love this game. This is so cool:

I've gotten into a nice groove with my current character and finished my first Mistake mission last night. Took on 40+ armored guards and my only armor piercing weapon was a longblade. did lots of teleportation, stealth, key cloning, and crashbeaming to get to my target before jumping out the window and getting an emergency pickup.

the nebulas are so big though, it's really quite a grind to get through this.

love a good devblog, this last entry about the recent update is great:
