I am gonna pick back up playing The Witcher some day. My problem is that I bought too many games

I fle the temptation to buy Witcher 3 with every price drop but I still have had 2 installed for 2 years and I’ve played maybe 3 hours in that time

I played a few hours of Witcher 2 years ago, and yeah it killed my interest in Witcher 3 when it first came out but when the hype itt finally got me to buy it it's a much better playing game.

Finished Xenoblade Chronicles 2 last night. If you enjoy JRPGs (very JRPG) I cannot recommend this game enough. The ending actually had my wife crying like a baby. It’s the most satisfied I’ve been with a game ending since Witcher 3, as in I need to let it marinate for a while before I play it again.

glad to hear that. is there a ng+ mode?

and anyway the only possible way for me to play it is if switch emulation becomes a thing in the next 5 years. or i steal my sister's for a few months

Really hoping for a Switch port of XCX, I would probably sell my Wii U at that point.

NG+ will supposedly be in a patch in Jan. There is a post game mode that takes you right before the final boss. However, post game feels weird given the ending.

The other thing I should mention is this game is easily soundtrack of the year, over Persona 5 and Nier (I know, I know). It was done by the same composer from Chrono Trigger. I didn’t know he was the composer until a few hours into the game realizing the game is giving me Chrono Trigger flashbacks and vibes, so I looked it up. I ride hard for this.

In Dolphin it probably even looks better than on the Wii, plus motion controls aren't a thing

i dont recall but its been years and numerous improvements have been made to dolphin that i doubt it's more complicated than find iso + download emu

there's even an hd textures pack floating around, and probably other upscaling options superior to an actual wii. i also recall dolphin being one of the best optimized emulators out there

I think the barebones way to think of sidequests if you don't like them (I liked them a lot, it was fun to max out a city's development imo) is a way to grind your level up to whatever level you need for the next plot quest

i did every single one. i think it's part of the charm that you have so much optional shit to do, and i'm a completionist at heart. but i also think there's level scaling balanced around just doing main story only too

yeah. you're basically gonna download dolphin plus an iso, set up your resolution and your controller mapping and you're good to go. dolphin is the most effortless emulator in the world next to the 8 and 16 bit standbys

which reminds me - i still owe you a working psx emulator don't i?
