Yeah, Vegas '00 is probably the best.

Coney Island and Merriweather Post '00 are both great too.

So are all the other ones me and Guy mentioned besides Clifford Ball. Not sure what the point of naming favorites of non-With versions would be, they're basically all identical.

without with, the curtain is a strategic respite. it works best when sandwiched b/w 2 heavy hitters.

i confessed to Guy that I listened to the Halloween show where they did Remain in Light, and was very impressed.

Used to be a good google group, way back when. Shame what's become of it now. :ugeek:
His standup was so fucking bro'd out and he had like 20 minutes of material that hinged on the audience having seen Grandma's boy.

I took a decade long break from the dead, maybe longer. circumstances lead me back, deeper than ever.

I've posted about it before but the curtain with from the Colorado88 release is fantastic.

I watched some of the stream from SPAC but wasn't too impressed. I might try to do nye this year if they play in New York

Really big fan of

6/27/10 Merriweather
1/1/11 New York

but I'm pretty biased with 3.0

I think this is the best thing they have done since getting back together

Guy Incognito wrote:yeah i dont hate this iteration of phish as much as some people, but probably my biggest complaint is the broadly predictable nature of the setlists. you know the first song of the second set is gonna jam, probably none of the songs in the first set will and they're gonna open/close the set with one of like 12 songs

they seem to be bucking that trend to some degree this tour which is nice

i used to be super into these guys in late high school and early college, then i explored other musical realms, and now i'm starting my loop back. listening to the early stuff, mostly via live phish releases, has been incredible.

after seeing them twice at spac, the one issue that i did take is what you noted above, the predictability of the shows. i've only seen three shows in the 3.0 era and, in retrospect, they have strictly abided by this formula. it's partially disappointing, but also somewhat comforting as i age i like to know about how long i'll need to be standing on a given night.
