12/30 Everything's Right is astoundingly good. I just listened walking home with takeout and stood in the middle of my living room with mouth hanging open as I finished listening to the last few minutes
Bought this at the mall I'm gonna wear this at the mall.
To sum up my phish history, listened a bunch in college, fell off during the big hiatus and didn’t really get back into until the bakers dozen, mainly due to working from home and watching my toddler and him wanting to listen to music all day
I’ve been working my way through the 3.0 years To find the best jams, and finding that in the first couple they are fewer than I would’ve thought. The 11/28/09 seven below / ghost has been the clear highlight so far, I’m about halfway thru 2010 and there are a few more killers but not with the frequency of what I’ve heard lately. Just looking for more reccs of the best earlyish 3.0 jams, like 2009-2014
For some sort of reference I think my favorite all timers are Camden 99 chalkdust, Tahoe tweezer, and that ambient twist from Japan
In my relatively recent conversion, 6/14/00 is the only show I've listened to more than once, and the first time I listened to it it was "Twist" that took it from good to great for me.
Agreed with 9/1/12 'Light'. Fucking incredible. The 'No Quarter' in the Mike's Groove later in that set is probably the best I've ever heard them play that song. Trey's solo is perfect.

I saw two shows in 09, mainly out of nostalgia. My heart wasn’t really back into yet and I went all of 10,11, and 12 without going to any. Here’s some favorites after my revisits:
2009 - 6/7 Sand, Tweezer...8/8 Rock and Roll
2010 - 6/25 2001....10/20 Slave... 12/31 Ghost
2011 - 5/26 Waves (soundcheck) still in my top three of things they’ve done these 10 years
These are for the most part the banner jams that still come up all the time with some personal stuff mixed in. I don’t have my finger on the under-the-radar gems as much as threadmates who attended all through these years.

God I had totally forgotten this existed and how perfect it is:
I remember this being at a time where I wanted big long jams and was so pissed they did this in soundcheck (although thankful that we have the recording) lol. 09-11 definitely isn't the height of Phish, but there's lots of goodness in there for sure
I burned that Waves soundcheck to a CD back in like 2012. It was the only track on the CD and it stayed in my car for like 4 years before it just stopped playing.
there's something about this show though, I guess because if the context, Trey's playing feels so effortful. Not a bad thing, his determination is palpable though
I know similar things were said at the time
but I find it almost stressful to listen to

Ha, somebody was just comparing this jam to beach house on our group chat. I found the interview:
I went through an obsession with Beach House recently, and I actually found myself trying to copy that gorgeous pattern picking style of guitar during one of the jams in Bethel.
