some shows I’ll always be a little mad at myself for and I’ll sort of ignore listening to.. which helps nothing, so don’t do that.. that’s usually when I don’t remember the end of a show or remember getting stuck in a loop (10/26/10, 7/2/11, 8/17/10, 6/8/11, and more)

but then there’s ones I got pretty damn fucked up at but had good company at and was quite assured of my safety, that I didn’t ruin anyone’s show or put me or someone else at risk (I never do, my drunk instincts are very positive, but I obsessively ruminate when I can’t remember a stretch).. often there are good stories of things I said or did from these nights, and I look back more fondly on them (6/17/10, 8/16/15, 7/22/17, etc)

Oh right. I know feeling regrets is unavoidable sometimes, but try not to beat yourself up too much, we've allllll been there. It will pass in time, just try and eat healthy and get lots of sleep.

Thanks, I was super tired and went to bed early and my brain was like NOPE.

so here I am.

going to try to sleep again soon.

anyway, I loved the first set! And it cured my BB&T phobia, which has kept me from Mayer and Co. and some other shows.

and Jewels if you’re ever going to a show and don’t want to drink I’m happy to be a sober buddy if I’m also going.. sober shows are really great, I often offer to DD on the first night of a run because my I’m coming in with energy and excitement that can override my anxiety, and it results in a really wonderful headspace for a show, and I’ll often turn down joints even because I don’t want to change a thing

8/31/12!!

I'd love that!

I can't 100% blame being alone on drinking too much, I've drank too much with my one friend and a lot of friends. But I have to think it did play a little part. The more I drank the more chatty I got. hopefully I didn't ruin anyones vibe.

I don't remember most of the second set of the Canandaigua show that was the first show I saw after getting back into the band, other than that I somehow got down into the pav.

you'll see them again

Also gotta say I still listen to that song you posted Jewels - When We Are Together, that's you right? Great stuff, it's given me its joyful vibes many times, so thank you for sharing it.

little tid bit about that song. I asked a guy who at that time was a very new friend to play guitar and sing on that song. His music tends to be tight little 3 minute power pop songs. He turned out to be a secret Phish mega fan and the only non board person I talk about phish with on the regular. The drummer turned out to be a secret Phish fan. And I turned out to be a secret Phish fan, a secret I was keeping from myself. The bass player still thinks they stink.

the drummer is a huge radiohead fan and went to the Lemon bakers dozen show and descended right into heaven when they did the radiohead song.

once, actually

anyway, great version of the Wedge.. I’d rather they not play it sometimes than play a version whose solo / jam is completely flat like they often can be

/ hot take

ok i usually don't complain about jams ending when they do unless it's real egregious and that

that felt a little egregious

maybe my expectations are high cause it's been a 15ish minuter lately and it felt like they were gonna go that route again. it was fine, i was just surprised when it ended.

I don’t, it screws up the others’ harmonies

if you wanna sing like broadway, sing together as en ensemble.. don’t do the vocal equivalent of a guitar solo on every line
