Agree with Kaputt that BTG is the best thing he’s done, in a big way, but I’ve come around to thinking this only recently. I have real trouble keeping up with how prolific so many of these guys fuckin are. I’m used to it being every few years that an album gets released by an artist I love and respect and I have that long to digest it and discover it’s nuances and feel it in different moods and forget about it and come back to to all before I need to do it again with another one. So many of these guys move so god damn fast (at least for a time) I cannot keep up.
Anyway, BTG is an amazing achievement and I’m only now starting to hear it for what it is. If his pyrotechnic inventiveness is toned down from the early days, i don’t agree that it’s cause he peaked. His skills as an artist, as a song writer are far stronger and sharper and sophisticated. He doesn’t have Kanye’s manic compositional inventiveness, but he is staggeringly good at taking you on an amazing emotional journey for 4-6 minutes wherein you can’t really have any idea where you’ll go along the way or where exactly you’ll end up. He’s really incredible and on BTG he employs those skills more skillfully in service of the song and album than I’ve heard from him since prob Barter 6. Starting to come around that this is his best yet.
Not sure if someone else said this, but I kinda feel like Relationship is one of the lesser songs on BTG and while it’s understandable why him and Future did a tape together, he’s so subdued on that song. Future kinda runs the show and before long you sorta realize - the song slaps but it doesn’t go anywhere and the songs on either side of it are so much more developed. Interesting they did a whole album together. Haven’t listened closely enough to it yet, but it doesn’t surprise me folks are mostly lukewarm on it and think both have done better work elsewhere even if some tracks are fun as hell.
Side thought, Thugger’s never gotten proper props for his lyrical game.
Huh? I just like it when thug makes weird sounds with his voice.

I love this song but what is with the whole only releasing some of his songs on YouTube and not properly mixing them? It's such a weird thing to do it's such a shame that Safe never made it onto streaming services.
If he keeps following this style he's on with mlk/killed before then his next album will be even better than BTG and therefore his best yet (don't @ me milknight)

How long ago? I've mentioned it in the thread before, but I saw him w/ travis opening and travis had so much energy he made Thug look pretty bad. I read somewhere after that tour that Thug took Travis' performance pretty seriously and worked hard to improve on future tour, but idk.
it was for the BTG tour. i think he was fine but i was too busy getting ran into by wasted 18 year olds (nothin against wasted 18 year olds but the venue was oversold) to enjoy myself and the sound at t5 is realllllly bad.
Saw him in Birmingham at legacy arena a couple years ago. Great, lowkey show. Only complaint is I paid for tickets near the front and there were so few people there that he let everyone come to the front. Could’ve saved some money lol
Thug says he is not putting out any new music this year in honor of his deaf brother and hopes to put Hi-Tunes out finally in 2019 i get his reasoning but still pretty bummed no thug project this year
looks like he is still gonna be a featured artist on songs this year just no solo projects but you never know with Thug he could put something out tomorrow and be like "lol jk" but here are some features and videos he has done so far this year!
