I get the cynicism directed towards this dude but based on his general interests, v obvious arthur worship/appropriation and stated interest in academic music of that era, there's no reason to believe his interest is any less authentic than yours. Sorry!
speaking of, pretty sure i can reveal this publicly--dev is headlining an Eastman festival the organization I work for is putting on next month in philly, playing thruway. really looking forward to it! It's the culmination of years of research and work and is very well timed considering the weird amount of seemingly uncoordinated eastman interest that's gone down this past year. gonna be a lot of pieces that were thought completely lost that we managed to transcribe, and an accompanying exhibition. should be cool!

we're taking the exhibition to the kitchen in nyc in October too. Idk where you live but definitely hit it up if you can, tho I very much doubt this will be the last we see of "eastmania 2017-18??"
Also to answer your original post there is a 100% chance that that will happen and imo it's a totally sick thing

hmm
you know I've thought about this and I think I'm gonna go with '6'
i saw him live over the weekend. he played some of Solange's True EP which ruled. he also played some new stuff, which sounded darker and moodier than anything hes done. it didnt really work for a live setting but it sounded p nice.
wimbledon, strawberries, bubbles, please protect me. happy midsumma, hope you spend it in your heart, everyone is there. bitch.
hard to articulate but a lot of the freetown sound material sounded kinda thin. like the sound was there, but it felt like he was forcing and stretching it over single idea sketches all to project an idea of a "big tent concept" album that in actuality was threadbare.
where this sounds more confident and comfortable and at ease in that sound, which definitely prizes a vibe over hooks, but it feels a lot more okay with that and natural in its way.
again this is kinda a nonsense way of saying that i like it more immediately
