I searched, don't think Kim Doo Soo has been mentioned, highly recommended:

Listening to Romantic Times by candlelight while drinking alone is probably not healthy behavior but goddam.

romantic times is inextricably linked with utter insanity/self-destruction, alcoholism/drug abuse, and husk-life for me

which seems actually perfect

i haven't listened to RT in what must now be a few years
i liked it but really the actual discovery of it is more memorable than the album could ever be for me

hard disagree. that a-ha moment led to some pretty significant demystification due to LITA stalking lewis and cornering him at a coffee shop. the album itself is a classic imo, and is much more valuable than a transient music meme

i mean yea the stalking may have been :?
but just the fact that there was a second record, the cover reveal, the title, etc - that's what i'm talking about as being kind of mind bending

sure, but that moment went sour due to what followed. i'm just saying the album is better than that. its a really good album.

nah there's like, an abysmally recorded (far worse than lamour, which has charm in its lo-fi) solo guitar record which putters on for like 90 minutes nonsensically. i own it on tape!

I grew to.. not dislike? .. the other albums

The spirit of his songwriting was in there, especially the one with a beach at sunset cover that was kinda sparse

I eve like the cheesed out one tho but I am a fan of cheeserock

"I Was Not Shy" is a beautiful song (the acoustic version is better but you can kinda hear the potential for something like his first two albums in the cheesy arranged one)

I like "I Come from Texas" a lot too

Definitely some gems on the later albums
