The show might just be bad now. It's hard to keep a comedy good!

i wonder what happens in writer's rooms once a sitcom hits this spot of like, "ok so we have these 20 celebrities that want to be on the show, let's write 6 episodes around their cameos"

it must be guest star first, then plot, right?

Shania, Sykes, restaurant boss dude and ???

Iunno this seemed fine/mostly good? The gym stuff anyway. Trey was gold: "I think so, air quotes are pretty big now" & "ma'am?"

I think at least the Shania Twain cameo has some precedent/previous reference. It's not like Paul Giamatti just showed up and they built some story around him for 20 minutes.

I guess they said in the little video after the show that it was their way of saying goodbye to Trey. Would kinda blow if he's out of the show now

Sandra Bernhard was the fourth.

I kind of hate how self-referential the show is now. This arguably started back in season 2, but it seems really pronounced in these two episodes so far.

Yeah first ep had a lot of out-of-place stuff like that. Laughed at North Brother Island, towel in face, Maria as trainer of the year tonight though

first ep of this season felt like the first episode of a series, nothing seemed in the right place, most of all, jokes

I couldn't put my finger on any one change that makes it different but I understand what everyone is saying. I still like it enough to watch it... on weed.

much better than the first episode but it's just not bringing the laughs. the only real reaction I had was face-palming at "man, I feel like a smoothie"

There's no way this is what Shania thought she'd be doing when she walked on set.

I did like mean Illana selling expensive dishes, though. All 30 seconds of it.

i watched this one because Hannibal was in the previews on Comedy Central. don't think I'll be watching anymore eps this season. yikes.

disappointing because S2 is one of the best seasons of a TV sitcom I've ever seen.

Last night's was the one I really hated when I watched it a couple of weeks ago. Sure, it had Hannibal. It was also aggressively unfunny.

this one had small moments of funny but then it would quickly get ruined by some absurd unfunny BS and never really got on the tracks for me. hannibal and jaime helped but overall it was still a bad episode to me. i guess it was better than the first 2 but it still sucked and idk wtf theyre doing, especially ilana. nice outfit tho
You go through childhood and turn 9 or 10 or 11, and you walk around with weird feelings, and no one ever sits you down and explains them - sadness or loneliness or being dissatisfied with how things are or are going until you hear it in a song and it's utterly transformative. - rubicon
