not sure if it was itt or another drinking thread but i recently saw someone here saying something about drinking radlers with a shot of gin + campari in it so i tried it today
Had a gluttonous weekend in Vermont. A little disappointed in Hill Farmstead's offerings this trip, mostly because their Society & Solitude series wasn't on. The Grassroots version of Wheat Is The New Hops is so damn good though. Dorothy/Double Citra/Mosaic Single Hop/Lawsons Rhubarb Basil Saison were also killer. The trip did reaffirm just how good Trillium has gotten though. Always nice to easily get Heady/Focal/Second Fiddle but I'm not feeling I'm missing out on much in Boston besides HF saisons.
My monthly trek to the map room was fruitful, a casked citra IPA from Arcadia, three floyds darkheart double IPA, plus stiegl's paracelsus zwickl. All highly recommend.
Tried some new things this weekend. Local bar just tapped a new Avery sour called Fortuna. Aged in tequila barrels, with salt. Delicious sour beergarita which I assume is what they were going for. Really need to make the trek to their new tap room. At memorial day bbq-ing brought two four-pack cans: DESTIHL's Flanders Red and Avery's Lilikoi Kepolo. Neither were exceptional but they both worked for the atmosphere. The flanders was sour cherry, nothing too interesting/complex about it. Avery was this tart witbiet with a lot of tropical fruit flavor. Almost overpowering fruit flavor. Both were great cans to session while grilling in nice weather. Could see myself drinking the Kepolo all summer long.
Also, keeping with the sour beergarita theme, going to eventually open a bottle of Fate's tequila barrel-aged gose tonight

lol i bought the same exact combo. artaic is unreal, usually i'm not a big honey/sweet fan but it works so well in this beer. you live in the metro area?

This grew on me as I drank it. The tequila was really subtle and mixed in well because the the beer was very lemony and salty. Really bubbly. Not sure if I would drink it again, but I don't really have a taste for goses yet so hard for me to judge. Fate on the whole has yet to really impress me.
i started with a victory at sea bomber tonight because that was one of the few things i could find at the liquor store, and it was predictably a little stale but ok overall
i followed that up with this amalgamator growler i filled yesterday and holy god damn shit fresh amalgamator continues to be incredible
i think i was a little worried beachwood would decline some with their more tested recipes given their fermenting tank expansion and subsequent increase in output but i've largely been wrong so far thankfully
