my room mate and i tried really hard to get multiple bottles. i even have some regular trading partners that are in cali and we still only ended up with one bottle each. i am still waiting on the box but when i get it i'll let you know if it is worth the hype.

Oh I've had Beatification before. I'm originally from NorCal. It's probably my favorite sour that they do along with supplication. It's just been a really long time, and my friends there are pretty unreliable douchebags that plan to go to Russian River, then get too drunk at some other bar in the early afternoon and realize no one can drive. Can't wait to head back there in May. Some of my favorite beers are the RR IPA and Porter, which are brewpub only. Hope you enjoy your bottles though.

One of these days I'm gonna have enough money to just fly over to the west coast and I'm gonna drink all the fucking Russian River I can get my hands on.

RR IPA makes an appearance at other beer bars, we get it down here some time, but it's draft only. definitely a good beer. it's interesting to try side-by-side with blind pig.

one of their beers i've only seen from growlers from the taproom itself (although a quick BA check shows it's made appearances at monk's cafe in the bay area and a few pizza ports in SD, but those are probably due to friendships with vinnie or something) is rejection, which is a belgian dark ale but really borders on a porter or stout. really good beer, light/sessionable but really flavorful.

Yeah rejection is great, I think they still release on valentine's day every year. I know I've had it at pliny the younger tappings before as well as other non-taproom places.

I recently 'inherited' a box of mixed beer from my uncle-in-law, who just retired as the manager of a high end beer & wine store. Apparently he saved these for me and they've been the in laws garage for a year or so.

Dogfish Head Chateau Jiahu
Estrella Damn Inedit
La Blanche Cheval Blanc (? - a quebec wit)
Driftwood Spring Rite - (a local malt abbey ale) - glad its been cellared a year
Driftwood Belle Royale (a strong belgian cherry ale) - ditto
ST Peter's English Ale
a few other unnotable BC beers
and most excitingly:
HaandBryggeriet Norwegian Wood
HaandBryggeriet Dark Force
HaandBryggerie: Odin's Tipple

The last three have high BA ratings and sounds like it was good to cellar them for a year. Anyone tried them?

a local store in baton rouge is selling cantillon classic for $18.99 for the 375ml bottles. they have never had it before and the only store in the state that has ever had it is a little place in new orleans. i am convinced they had someone drive down to new orleans and buy some at $8.99 each and then marked it up again at there store to $18.99 to pay for gas and make a profit.

fucking ridiculous.

I am done with that store. I move back to New Orleans in a month and will save money to spend there. I am also going to mention it to the owner of the new orleans store next time I am in town.
