one thing I like about this city is the prevalence of completely fucked to shit 80's/90's Mercedes. they'll have big scratches, duct tape, broken lights, dirty as hell. there's something oddly chill and comforting about seeing them parked on the street

hoping this is not true, but wouldn't be surprised given everyone closing and moving upstate or to LA. they've had a good run.

my wife is going to be super bummed, one of her favs :(

just bought tix to roc marciano at highline on 12/26, anyone else going? haven't bought tix to a show in probably a year, kinda strange feeling tbh.

so what is up with highline? do i have to like sit at a table or something the whole show? also, i'm going by myself, am i gonna be forced to eat dinner with strangers? it says there's a $10 min per person per table. i've never been to a concert in manhattan ever i'm pretty sure actually, so i don't know anything about these venues.
Nice day if it doesn't rain.

never been to highline where they have tables and shit, thats weird especially for a hiphop show. whenever i've gone it was just standing and maybe some vip section off to the side. i guess sobs will do tables sometimes off to the side with bottle service tho

It's just a reg venue with a standing room floor and I believe upper balcony you can stand at.

oh and yeah if my other experiences at high line are any indication, at that roc marciano show there will be tables along the sides of the room, it will probably be general admission/standing right in front of the stage

I had a terrible new experience here about a month ago when my foot got caught in one of those upright turnstiles. Someone was pushing from the other side and I must have been dragging my feet or something. Its an exit I have been using almost daily for almost 7 years. It was extremely painful and hurt for like a week

Last week, the Regional Plan Association (RPA) published its Fourth Regional Plan, a sweeping report that recommends 61 actionable steps aimed at improving the New York metropolitan area’s infrastructure, housing and environment in order to allow it to thrive in the coming century.

Upon its release, the plan caught a good deal of flack for a proposal to slash 24-hour subway service in order to extend windows for track updates and maintenance. But that audacious idea is just the tip of the iceberg—the RPA has put out a whole slew of interesting recommendations that, if put into action, could radically change the way millions of people navigate and live in New York City.

One of those recommendations comes in the form of eight new subway lines and extensions, which would provide train access to entire stretches of the city that are currently without it. In its report, the RPA points out that more than one-third of New York City’s residents do not live within walking distance of a subway station. The organization’s proposed changes to the subway system are coupled with its idea of a new, unified regional rail system called the Trans-Regional Express (or T-REX). Together, they’d expand train access to cover millions of additional people in New York City and the surrounding area.

Yeah this is pornographic to me. Also a ton of people (*cough cough* Builda Blasio) were willfully and short-sightedly misrepresenting their proposals for fixing subway service, but that's no surprise.
