are there new quests or is it the same skyrim we got 6 yrs ago?
You go through childhood and turn 9 or 10 or 11, and you walk around with weird feelings, and no one ever sits you down and explains them - sadness or loneliness or being dissatisfied with how things are or are going until you hear it in a song and it's utterly transformative. - rubicon

I'm a little apprehensive about Odyssey. I love the direction they took with the galaxy and 3d series because they were composed of these really tight satisfying platforming sections made possible by the linearity of the levels. Moving to open worlds and introducing all these new powers probably means losing a lot of that tightness. Obviously the open worlds also mean gaining a certain joy of exploration and these more interesting treasure hunts, which are cool, but I don't think those are what I look for in Mario games. I did love Mario 64 so I'm hoping I'm proved wrong.

Pretty sure it's the same ol thing but portable and you can get Zelda shit by using amiibos.

I'm aware that I'm totally being suckered by Bethesda if I want this game but goddammit I miss the Elder Scrolls and I want to play it on the go.

This system rules. Playing Octopath now....this music...it's dank!! Plays like a PS1 RPG, looking forward to getting more time with it.

What a crazy line up for fall/winter.

Got my system on Monday and a pro controller. Really enjoying it. Started Zelda last night. Trying to make this the first Zelda game I actually finish. Yes, I know how sad that is.

Really annoyed that Amazon only told me today that it'd take me a month to get NBA 2K18 through them, in spite of the fact that I pre-ordered it in March and apparently the delay was known about in July (why it never came up in the dozens of times I looked up info on the game in the last 2 months, I don't know)

So... apparently I'm buying it on Friday morning for $15 more than the Amazon pre-order price and also need to buy an SD card to get the digital version (which I'll also, obv, never be able to sell on the back end, even if sports games don't ever get you anything worthwhile). Meh.
I try to avoid enjoyable romps whenever I can. -Armond White

I had similar worries about a more open Mario, but this trailer really showed us a lot more different gameplay mechanics of the 'everything goes' philosophy of a game like SMG, and not just 'exploration', so I'm more confident in it now than I have been. Seems like there are a lot of confined sections of wacky platforming gameplay.

Gave that Octopath Traveller demo a try, and it has kind of a Romancing Saga vibe and looks/sounds very nice. Definitely has potential.

Love the dog catching Marios hat on the beach.

Love the Switch.
