underwater episode was amazing. also loved the 2007 episode (but four loko was 2010!!!) and the la times episode. the final stretch of the season was a gut punch, as usual. i didn't think i would be so affected by sarah lynn's death, considering she'd been a mostly minor character to that point.Toggle Spoiler

i think i'd rank the seasons 2>3>>1, but either way, this is the best damn show

it starts as a goofy, fairly good hollywoo satire cartoon and just becomes something else entirely

Personally, it's:

1. BoJack
2. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
3. Orange is the New Black
4. Bloodlines
5. Love/Lady Dynamite (about halfway through LD and it's not gripping me but I can't bear to put it BELOW Love)
7. With Bob and David

Really didn't care for Master of None and Narcos and Stranger Things both strike me as severely 'not my thing'

While still being a pretty good Hollywoo satire. I recently told someone that my favorite new genre was 'Mental Health Comedy' and this is near the top of the class (with You're the Worst and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend among the other particularly fun ones)

I wish they wouldn't try to make some cute referential pun every other sentence, other than that the show is terrific.

people aren't wrong when they talk about how depressing this show can be, but that kind of talk also discounts how funny it is (often at the same time), imo

while dark, i dont find the show depressing. it just deals with depression on a level you wouldn't expect. and yes, as insightful as i think it is, it is still drop down funny.

i'm not going to rate anything but holy moly this show is amazing. it's so hard to try to get people to watch because it's a cartoon.

yeah, that's a good way to put it.

this vulture article also made some good points on the topic of this show's sadness level: http://www.vulture.com/2016/07/bojack-horseman-is-a-hopeful-show-deep-down.html

Bojack is the best netflix show by a considerable distance.

Narcos & Stranger Things are probably my next tier down, then Unbreakable/Wet Hot, then the no-laugh balm comedies like Love/Aziz/Bamford/Flaked. I haven't watched more than an episode or two of House of Cards/OITNB/Coach Taylor in Florida, but I don't think they're for me.

cmon the puns are a huge part of the whole thing's essence

like you look on princess caroline's bookshelf in her office and see she has Purrity by Jonathan Franzen and it's like you're being punished/rewarded for looking

the part in the final episode where bojack gets out of the car and sees all those horses running in the desert is basically a pun, but it's so strange and layered that it just somehow kicks you right in the faceToggle Spoiler

the underwater episode reminds me a lot of that adventure time episode that masaaki yuasa did. an amazing, experimental, colorful one-off.

6 episodes into this season and i'm moving slowly, but it's helping me to savor it a lot more than i think i did with season 2.
