I find uplay useless too, and would happily live without it, but I click the assassin's creed icon and away I go
I installed the epic launcher so I can get subnautica for free
I installed the blizzard launcher so I could play overwatch, and got destiny 2 for free
I wish I could have those games in steam too but at the end of the day I'm just ignoring the other launchers beyond the initial popup when the game loads
