Just bought seated pit tickets myself. Never seen them before... and also tickets for the Black Dice side project at Zebulon tomorrow! Things to try and look forward to...

On Saturday, January 27, Suspect Joshua Villalobos, a 27 year-old homeless parolee, went on an hour long crime spree in South Pasadena that resulted in his arrest in the 400 block of Bridewell Street in Los Angeles as he sat in the driver’s seat of the last car he tried to steal. During his crime spree Villalobos committed three residential burglaries, two of which occurred while the victims were home, two attempted carjackings, two auto thefts, three attempted or successful auto burglaries, and two hit and run collisions.

It all began at about 7:00 p.m. Saturday when Villalobos burglarized an apartment in the 300 block of Raymondale Drive in South Pasadena. Among the numerous items he stole was the victim’s bike. Villalobos then approached a victim in the 300 block of Raymondale and demanded the keys to the victim’s car. When the victim screamed Villalobos tried to stab the victim with a knife but missed.

Villalobos fled on the stolen bike and rode it to the 1900 block of Spruce Street where he parked it in the victims’ carport. He then forced entry to a door to the victims’ home, entered the home while the victims were upstairs, and walked through the bottom floor until he found keys to the victims’ cars. He used a set of keys to steal the victims’ car and fled in the car, leaving behind the stolen bike.

Villalobos ran a red light at the intersection of Mission Street and Fremont Avenue and broadsided another car, rendering the stolen car undriveable. Villalobos got out of the car and approached a victim who had stopped to help. He demanded that person’s car keys, but when the victim refused Villalobos struck the victim several times in the head and face.

Villalobos then fled on foot northbound on Fremont and tried to break into two parked cars in a nearby parking structure. When he was unsuccessful in getting into either car he fled northbound on Fremont to a home in the 700 block of Fremont. He entered an unlocked rear door to the home while the victim was home, found keys to the victim’s car, and fled in the stolen car.

The stolen car was spotted by Pasadena PD Air Support, PD-1, as it drove onto the southbound 110 Freeway. Villalobos crashed the car into a chain link fence that separates the freeway from Bridewell Street, which runs along the west side of the freeway. He climbed over the fence and began trying to break into cars in the 400 block of Bridewell Street, all the while being observed by PD-1. PD-1 directed South Pasadena PD to Villalobos’ location and he was arrested without incident as he sat inside a car he had just broken into.

this was really close to me, damn

Anyone in the LA area want to make $5K by going on a monthlong road trip for Lexus with a randomly assigned co-pilot? (Or you can bring one if you have one readily available.) PM me if interested. Not a joke.

My roomate and I would totally do this if I can be the co-pilot. I don't drive, but he does and is very stable and reliable. What more comes with this? Get me the hell out of here for a month. More details?

What's some of the best bars currently on the weekends if you're single? Also like what are the spots with the hippest people? pref a combo of both. Like I'm talking one I can go regularly and the scene is good. I live around Silverlake looking for spots I haven't heard of before so like not Zebulon, Cha Cha Lounge, Red Lion Tavern, The Friend, Tenants, Cafe Stella, 4100 Bar, Footsies, Thirsty Crow etc.

I want somewhere that's packed that I might not know of yet.

Is there any packed bars in Highland Park not on N Figueroa st? or in Pasadena not next to E Colorado Blvd?

Drive around w my gf
Sleep
Drop off/pick up dry cleaning

Did you know at Griddles on Sunset you can get one pancake? You don’t have to get the huge stack

young jesus' conceptual beach event at the bootleg tonight is an event that needs to happen more often. definitely would be interested in seeing different moods and energies explored. if you didn't go, people were continually playing music throughout the venue until they all reconvened in the bar area for an improv set together. none of it felt too tedious or inaccessible. there were beach umbrellas in some areas and a tent in a corner. not too much beach decor. there were different talks led by people in different areas of the other music area and on the 2nd story of the little platform there were prompts written out in poetry, some more abstract than others. there was a fog machine with a sign that encouraged you to blast some fog at any time. there was a person out on the patio who read poetry, really expressively.

just realized how hard it is to describe the event. all of this kept happening at the same time until the last improv set. it was magical. definitely inspiring me to try to do similar events like this. definitely more interactive elements. the music mostly played throughout wasn't structured and based on experimental genres. nobody with a guitar performed until that last improv set. could imagine something guitar based would have to be really low energy stuff. at least that was the mood throughout the venue.

i'm so high on edible and i dont know why i typed this. i've been lurking hipinion for so long but posting for so little that at this point i dont know how to get back into boarding again. i've boarded on other message boards and would try different styles of boarding out and it would be super fun and performative. let me know if i did a good job with this post, edibles mess me the dang up wow

Cornelius is playing sometime soon, but I've missed every cool show this year cause i perpetually put off buying tickets. Also I don't drive on highways so I can't really get back and forth well. Oh the worst thing in LA is seeing friends/school classmates attend the same shows, but never invite you to carpool/ go together. I feel like there is some kind of over saturation of people, to the point where you can't even bond with someone even if you both are into the same thing.

Don’t quote me on this but my memory is they met at Wisconsin. Which makes sense that school churns out great people go Bucky. Anyways yeah Eric for sure but I’m pretty sure all of them. Doesn’t it make sense given their sound?

Why on earth would you want to go to a crowded bar filled with hip people. Don’t you see you already hate tenants and cha cha.

i'm going to see Surfer: Teen Confronts Fear which opens this weekend at Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills. The trailer makes it seem like this is going to be the outsider film event of 2018 so far. I recommend taking a minute to watch it:

Specifically I'm seeing the Saturday screening at 7:20

https://www.laemmle.com/theaters/purchase/4/5304017

If anyone else is going, look for me there and say hi!
