yeah the demon weapon is insultingly bad. i'm 100% sure that it will be my free weapon.

the legendaries i unpacked this expansion were: 4 mana prince, moorabi, putricide, lilian voss, sindragosa, and malfurion (so one good one)

i eventually crafted lich king, anduin, garrosh, and guldan, but jeeze

Every time I look at Psychic Scream I think of Michael Jackson noises.

i think psychic scream is the best card of the set by far and am surprised not everyone else agrees

it's a 1 mana cheaper twisting nether that also removes deathrattles like cairne. ofc, using it removes fatigue as a win condition, but there's so much upside to bricking your opponent's draws. token druid probably won't recover if you shuffle 5 tokens into their deck or living mana (but any aoe would typically do in this situation). the real kicker is paladin/shaman decks, who typically had the long game advantage against priest because of their hero powers. now hitting your hero power will give you more dead draws. in control matchups, you can also dump bad minions like cleric and whatnot before using it, but you need to have huge threats to back that play up. in any case, razakus is still a thing for the next few months so this is just going to be nuts

it seems to me that consensus is k&c was largely uninteresting or rng or a meme set, but the last few reveals have been better. i like the warlock/warrior cards. warrior may be playable once jades and razakus rotate out.

my gut feeling is that not much of what's been revealed will influence the current stale meta, but some of these cards will be welcome after the rotation.

Hunter Spellstone is a must play in Secret Hunter and probably in Big Hunter if you are doing a Secret Package for early game. One of the easier Spellstones to upgrade as well.
Rogue Spellstone seems super bad unless you play like 12-15 Deathrattles and play Roll the Bones to draw all your cards. I feel like Vilespine Slayer is better since you can target a minion and you get a body on the board.
Priest Spellstone seems like a perfect fit for Big Priest if your opponent already used his removal. Be prepared to resurrect Barnes every time though.

I agree with how I don't think the current meta will change much or that we'll see many new powerful decks. I feel like Dragon Priest and Miracle Rogue will be good enough but they aren't really new decks. The other decks that are being pushed in this expansion like Big Hunter, Discard Warlock, Elemental Shaman, Deathrattle Rogue, and Elemental Mage might be fun to play but not that competitive. I think I'm just tired of this Patches / Jade meta and looking forward for the rotation.

rogue's is extremely bad
priest's is probably something you shove 1 of in big priest for extra threats and not much else
hunter is the closest to playable, but we're at the keleseth-patches point where if you're ever playing secrets i'm dubious of your chances to win

I don't think this can fit in Control Mage unless you cut either Mediv, Alexstraza or Death Knight. I guess you can go super greedy and play all 4. Well I guess Mediv won't be played early in the Meta if everyone is going to be running Ooze's so maybe this is the replacement. This is also pretty bad versus Priest even though its great vs Dragonfire Potion. Plus another nerf to Evolve outcomes.

Image
This is really good in Quest N'zoth Priest. Maybe in a Razakus Deck that wants to summon back Loot Hoarder and adds in Polluted Hoarder just to use this card for the extra draw? Maybe in a Dragon Priest that runs 2 Bone Drakes? Priest seems to have gotten a lot of usable cards (other than the meme Legendary).

Image
I can see me running this in my Buffadin with Saronite Chain Gang and Doppelgangster just for those 1 in 8 chances that it lands on them.

This seems bad but I guess it can work with Barnes to give you a fully stated Dragon on turn 4.

Big Priest in Standard, I got to Rank 9.

Hypocritically I am tired of playing against Big Druid although I beat a string of them last night.

Nourish -> Medivh -> UI on curve -> frig off!

recruit seems like the grimy goons of this expansion. i wonder if these cards were all 1 or 2 mana cheaper and got nerfed in testing. they look awful to me.

like that card you can only play in a deck that only runs both deathwings (edit: maybe ysera or alex too?), and then you'll draw it last 1/3rd of the time. like even pulling primordial drake is kinda bad, right? is a 4-8 taunt + a 2/4 good for 9 mana?

i think the hunter deck that only runs charging dinosaurs for beasts and uses the secret package for its early game is the best chance this mechanic has, but i'm still kinda doubtful.

the paladin one is actually good

a reddit poll says only loe, ungoro, and wotog were good for the game. i'd probably add naxx. this set will probably make a 4 out of 12

also i think kobold librarian is my #2 of the set because it's basically a 28 card deck and it comes with a body

the omni guys are predicting that leyline manipulator may make otk mage broken. 2x simulacrum a sorc's apprentice, then leyline them so they cost 0, sorc+sorc+sorc+antonidas+molten = otk, which is much faster than quest mage atm. i'm not buying the broken part because even if you stick in frostbolts and volcanics now you're not beating keleseth+patches shit, but it's an interesting idea i hadn't considered

another recurring theme i'm hearing between various players is that while 60-75% of the set may be your typical unplayable garbage, the remaining parts are pretty much supercreeped hyper-competitive cards

I guess with that OTK Mage you wouldn't need to run the quest and most of the RNG spell generation cards. So thats like 3-5 deck slots you can use to put in some anti-aggro cards like Volcanic Potion and Tar Creeper. On paper it seems pretty powerful. If it becomes a thing I imagine everyone is going to start running Dirty Rat.

4 mana 6 armour + 3/6 taunt + deck thinning seems decent. It works with Druid's Spellstone and all the early ramp. I guess you'd also play Mire Keeper so you have the chance of pulling that though. Play that with the 8m 3/5 taunt (Deathrattle: Recruit to 4m or less minions) and Hadranox. I know its most likely a bad deck and def not worth playing over Jades, Big, or Aggro but who knows after set rotation.

ImageImage
Warrior weapon seems decent mid to late game if you're playing with all the armour cards that Warrior got this set. Rogue's Legendary Weapon is pretty interesting but I don't know what deck would run this card with Deadly Poison, Envenom Weapon, and/or Leeching Poison (Lifesteal). Rogue having a continuous supply of life gain seems pretty good but taking up all those deck slots seems pretty bad.

One of the most useless cards I've ever seen in a game.

These Blizzard reveal streams always makes decks look better than they actually are. Dungeon Run looks pretty fun and I look forward to trying that out.

I've got to say Blizzard has done a decent job of printing cards to support some of the Tier 3+ decks.

im still digesting

dont know that i necessarily i agree. i oppose the "pack filler" mentality that blizzard seems to have, especially cause almost like no other card game prints out the insane amount of atrocious shit hearthstone does. but a good 20% of cards seem to be quite interesting and possibly playable

the druid taunt deck looked half decent, but i remember thinking jades/taunt warrior both looked powerful at first glance but weren't actually. anything piloted in a day9 vs dumbed-down blizzard employee makes the game look exciting. makes me wonder what would happen if patches and keleseth didn't exist.

i like dungeon runs cause i hate arena with a passion

also the majority of constructed players think big priest is the dumbest deck imaginable, but i gave wild a test run and it's even worse with more resurrects and aoes
