actually i'm pretty sure there's a line in the movie where Deckard is like

The other problem with this movie's existence is that it feels the need to answer the question "is Deckard a Replicant?" which is completely unnecessary and if anything the answer Ridley Scott has provided undermines the themes and meaning of the original Blade Runner.

yeah i had a long shitty day last night and decided to finish by watching some blade runner and was thinking about art moderne/deco the architecture is and how that doesn't at all jive with the floor-to-ceiling glass walls in the 2049 trailer

Children of Men didn't suck at all though and the camera work was stellar. This sequel is gonna be just average I think.

Realizing what a weird and imperfect movie blade runner is has really blunted any expectations I might have had for a sequel, aside from a general annoyance at another sequel 30+ years later.

I went and saw close encounters and in the pre-movie hype "documentary" villeneuve says that it's Spielberg's subconscious metaphor about filmmaking. or some shit
