Shoulda used OPN - though attaching his name to this pending train wreck would be a kiss of death

If the script contains a few kernels of interesting ideas I'll be happy. Good choice for director, the aesthetics look okay-to-not-great imo, sounds like they should've gotten Dâm-Funk to do the OST, and we have Mr. Ford looking his goofy old self. My prediction is that it'll be a 2010 to Blade Runner's 2001. We shall see!

i think the best-case scenario at this point is that it's a decent-enough sci-fi thriller that's nowhere near as weird or meditative as the original. critics will probably like it with reservations and the board will probably hate it. i'm keeping my expectations low in any case.

I am expecting this to be good. I have been able to mostly avoid 30 Seconds to Mars since 2004 and I have little to no personal issue with Jared Leto. :D

the original is so brisk and deep. without looking I'd accept it's either 90 mins or 120

yeah i had a long shitty day last night and decided to finish by watching some blade runner and was thinking about art moderne/deco the architecture is and how that doesn't at all jive with the floor-to-ceiling glass walls in the 2049 trailer

I think that the thing Blade Runner and Children of Men get right and basically no other movies do is that in the future everything will be even older.
