Harrison Ford looked disgusting—nipples protruding—in his grey shirt in the Blade Runner trailer. Very very disrespectful.

I read and understand just about 100% of the criticisms leveled in the last couple pages (except Milk's) but I still can't help but be relieved that this movie, at the very least, appears to have treated its precursor with more reverence than most projects of this nature.

I've got a handful of worries and complaints based on that trailer but at least it looks like they gave half a damn about making a proper follow-up

well i mean just the fact that they bothered to get the people involved in this that they did shows they care to some degree about making a good movie

I once read some dude on the IMDB message boards post a detailed analysis of rain design in Zodiac and some Chris Nolan movie to back his argument that Nolan is a genius and Fincher is a hack

I seem to recall some discussion on the relative merits of the rain in Metal Gear Solid V: Gound Zeroes (PS3 version) vs the rain in Metal Gear Solid V: Gound Zeroes (PS4 version)

yeah, seems like something that would be passable entertainment if not for the connection to possibly the greatest sci-fi film of all time.

i have no new complaints to add - just that it looks too actiony and filled with explosions. is there even a single explosion in the original film? outside of the exhaust vents on some of the buildings?

the problem is no one will ever start a thread titled, "blade runner 2049 is a really strange movie"

blade runner had its singular off-ness embedded in its bones

this looks like it's wearing weirdness as a suit as a means of trying to be weird like the original

but yeah it looks like it'd be a cool standalone sci fi thriller movie and its connection to blade runner will only make it worse

Impossible to recapture the 80s weirdness. They really should just stop rebooting/sequeling every damn beloved movie ever (they won't).

right and that weirdness is a significant portion of what makes blade runner so compelling. so if you aren't going to (or can't) make your movie similar naturally, why do it at all?

Have all the good movies been made already and basically we're just recycling them endlessly at this point?

he said something to the effect of Nolan not being afraid to use big heavy droplets but Fincher didn't have the concviction to go that far
