Hmm... I think this confirmed most of my fears about this project.

Mostly just relieved that Leto isn't playing DAMAGED Roy Batty Jr.

But I don't know, I guess they don't want to cut a trailer that's all mood & atmosphere... right? Not sure what else I should be optimistic about.

There's a Tron: Legacy-ness to all this that I can't quite shake.

Still remain interested, though.

I am still VERY excited but I remain cautious about the movie's beats and whether it will "feel" right

every film nowadays is super boring, and focusing way too much on action.

Becaue unfortunately action sells, just look at the latest Fast and Furious box office figures.

Is it a thing now for a trailers to start with like a teaser for itself?

I'm pretty excited but it all looks too shiny. the HD revolution has not done this kind of sci-fi any favors.

I was thinking maybe they do this so that when you're watching trailers on YouTube you don't miss the start of it while you're switching to full-screen mode or messing with the quality settings, or whatever. I know I'm exactly the sort of idiot who presses play and then checks the settings.

Excited to see Deakins doing his thing on this though. Can't imagine having a bad time watching something that's going to be this beautiful.

seems kind of wrongheaded to judge a movie's plot or characters based on a trailer or paragraph long synopsis

Harrison Ford looked disgusting—nipples protruding—in his grey shirt in the Blade Runner trailer. Very very disrespectful.

I read and understand just about 100% of the criticisms leveled in the last couple pages (except Milk's) but I still can't help but be relieved that this movie, at the very least, appears to have treated its precursor with more reverence than most projects of this nature.

I've got a handful of worries and complaints based on that trailer but at least it looks like they gave half a damn about making a proper follow-up
