I bought this a month ago and played through the main storyline, I got the bad ending and it has ruined my mood for days now

I have sorta ocd tendencies when I play open world games (I always wanna do all main/side quests in order of level; I made sure to clear out all the ?s in White Orchard before i left), when I got to Velen and saw all of the notice boards and ?s I almost had a panic attack

what a game tho

Late to this, (late to most everything this console generation but w/e). Just sailing around skellige, raiding pirate lairs, exploring little coves and islands with that chill-ass score in the background, it's really got me.

my gf was goofing on keira suddenly having a bustier where clearly there had been none and I said maybe she casts a "bustier out of nowhere" spell or something and then later on yen and geralt are in the bonezone and YEN TOTALLY CASTS A MAGIC BUSTIER SPELL.

whenever i think about how much i love this game i usually think about skellige first. the experience of setting out from an island and seeing it dwindle behind me was always bittersweet

yeah good god novigrad/velen can be such a shithole sometimes, just mud and rain and weirdos everywhere.

I should probably dig into this thread but, are witcher school armor sets worthwhile for their set bonuses? In terms of resistances/glyph slots they seem inferior to relic gear at concurrent levels.

I do wish there was more random strong stuff you could find in this game

Not really random i mean but not necessarily tied to a quest

More shit worth wearing that you could stumble on in some hidden corner of the globe

gotcha. i'm at level 18 and i just have the basic feline and griffin sets so far and i'm still at the point where some random smuggler's cache has worthwhile stuff for me.

I think I asked this earlier in the thread but I still haven't bought Witcher 3 so I'll ask again

how is Witcher 3 better than 2? I'm a few hours into 2, feel like I have barely started, and I don't know if I REALLY want 3, or I just want to buy new stuff

fuck botp

damn Fullscreen, you're level 18 and have all that gear? I'm 18 and I have barely found any recipes. I'm actually not sure how the treasure hunts work at all.

after a love affair with Dirt Rally, getting back into this guy. what's so great about Skellige? I've done some questing here and I like the witch-swamp-land better so far but I'm open minded.

Oh wow

Just buy Witcher 3 right away

I say 2 is the worst of the trilogy even though it's still pretty cool

Witcher 3 is an all-time greatest game contender imo

took me a long time... i thought, oh great, another Not Scandinavian rural wilderness

but the atmosphere is much more peaceful in an ancient, primordial way. all the ruins carry long traditions and stories of balladry. the creatures of the forest know their place and the people do too

by comparison, velen seems like a cursed place. crude and worn down by endless war so that only the most brutish have survived.

also the palette in Skellige is all cool blues and greens and just looks prettier lol

i just got to kaer morhen and it's amazing how much pathos they can inject to even the little fetch quests

i hated lambert before this but now i have a much deeper appreciation for him. this is a game that loves its characters

It would be reasonable to argue that the Witcher 3 isn't "the best game ever", but man, Blood & Wine is definitely the indisputable best DLC of all time

Finished the Hearts of Stone quest, was about half way through the Blood & Wine stuff, but then I read about how you actually meet Gunter o'Dimm right from the start.

I then decided that I would start another game from the beginning. This time out, I'm concentrating on just getting the best gear right away and building my abilities properly. Last time, I was all about the role playing and just wandering around and letting things happen. Now I'm just hitting those questions marks on purpose. I think I'm level 7 already, just finished the Keira Metz quest and am starting the Baron one now. Also, turning off the HUD entirely and just letting the environment soak in everywhere is awesome.

This is literally one of those games where I try not to recommend it to anyone cause if they hate it, it would break up friendships.

Yeah, I found him. (Is GO'D a don don? Is he?)

Is he from the other series? I probably did talk to him the first time I played and just forgot about him when he finally reappears. Of course, the entire conversation holds more meaning now, which is really really cool, in that he wasn't just some random crazy person.

ok one problem i've had is that there's just SO MUCH SHIT to do that i start fairly involved quest lines, get distracted, come back to them a week later kinda forgetting what the stakes were.

lambert's quest with the witcher-turned-slaver for instance, once i finally got around to confronting the guy i had to look up who he was and what he'd done to decide if killing him was actually a good idea because i'd forgotten that the slaver's den i'd cleared out on skellige was his thing.

yeah i dunno i've just spent a lot of time clearing ? locations, bandit camps, smuggler's caches etc. read every little thing you pick up to make sure the treasure hunt is actually activated.

and i've found plenty of superior/enhanced plans (and the treasure hunts that go with them) that aren't useful yet as they're 15 or 20 levels ahead of me. i didn't even craft the feline and griffin stuff until a couple days ago - i'd been collecting the regional sets that came with the free DLC packs.

so just do a bunch of stuff and steal everything, i guess?
