Kitchy soul is a great mode that YLT is great at. It's a direct connection to some of the am gold-ey material that they cover and they sound charming especially when they sing together. Other examples are Is That Enough and Stockholm Syndrome (maybe that one's a stretch).

they opened with back with the new york jews to the tune of back in the new york groove. moby octopad. tom courtenay. motel 6. nick lowe did peace love and understanding which I always thought elvis Costello wrote but I guess not.

Yeah, Peace, Love and Understanding was a Lowe cover.
Did he do the song with YLT? Or just a note about an opener?

Nick Lowe came out at the end as a surprise guest. he played like 4-5 songs with YLT. Peace love and understanding was the last song of the night.
