micro's still kinda boring to me. weird era is great. crypto and halycon are best and best represent their two poles. flourescent gray is somehow like the perfect merge of both. frontier and mono are probably lesser but i still like them both.

they were really dialed in tonight, new material sounds intriguing though i need to rebuild the trust. fading frontier was such a *smooth* record it felt limp to me. brad seemed wasted when i saw them on that tour, much livelier this time

pretty sure he’s been sober since they recorded fading frontier

I thought the performances on that tour were way too polished, tonight was definitely a step towards the looser vibe of their earlier live shows. it still felt like the second show in a tour of a band who haven’t played in 8 months, but it was good. the new material is promising, reminded me of television

the improvised krautrock jam with animal collective(?!?! lol) was cool

remember when bradford would have five times the content on his blog for free along with an inappropriately graphic story about nostalgia for self gratification in a bubble bath

the piano melody at the beginning of Primitive Baptists reminds me of something and it's driving me insane that I can't place it

agh yes ! The vocal melody at the end of "it fit when I was a kid" by Liars

thanks for the tape link, terminus.

liking it a lot. just really glad that they still release stuff like this to satiate fans of their older, more meandering material. really hitting the spot.
