I will say that the Felicia/Patton segments are my least favorite parts of this new season. Patton is especially boring.

Nope, Joel has mentioned on Twitter it's "the payload" though.

I kept hoping they'd reveal it to be a picnic lunch.

So I actually started watching this (I know, I know, I made the thread) and I'm really enjoying it aside from Tom Servo's voice/flying

I've been working through this new season pretty slowly, just got to Starcrash which is the best one so far, they really feel like their hitting their stride.

I like Jonah and the Bots, don't really like Felicia Day or Patton Oswalt (or how they use the bubbles to just cut different takes together), and I wish they had like 15 percent less jokes because it just seems a little too rapid fire. The jokes are pretty good though.

All in all this is pretty good and I'm glad they are doing another season

having watched the season now I'm pretty on board. the writing has been consistent (and more in line with the mean/weird streak of the earlier Comedy Central eps)

I have no problem with new actors for the bots but I wish they'd act closer to their their natural speaking voices rather than try to affect the voices of trace and kevin.

with crow especially it just sounds like they grabbed a guy off the street and asked him to give his best crow impression. If they've cast a guy with a good take on the character and solid comedy chops it's fine if he sounds completely different. the doctor who model was what joel hodgeson was going for anyway, right? keep the template, let new voices filter in as needed to put their own spin on the show.

they're doing the right thing with gypsy, for instance. jim mallon's take on gypsy was.... remarkably weird. like, how did this ever get on tv kind of weird. not just the voice, but the richard basehart obsession. it's one of the things that made the old series what it was but I really wouldn't expect them to try to duplicate that today and it's good that they didn't try.

DO you guys think this season will be put out on physical media? Sort of regret that part of it being a Netflix show

this past season was already released on blu ray in april. most of the popular netflix shows release on disc (Stranger Things, House of Cards, etc are usually fully stocked at WalMart/Target/Best Buy)

yeah, but a lot cheaper than how they price the originals... 4 eps of the old show on DVD will run you about 40-50 bucks.

Yeah that's a good point. The only DVDs I have are the 25th Anniversary boxset, Manos, and the box set with Space Mutiny & Overdrawn at the Memory Bank

The only thing that really annoys me about this show are the commercial break bumpers and especially Patton Oswalt saying "On moon 13, THE MOON!" every time

I wanted some non-funko figurines of Crow and Servo and despite scowering eBay for hours they don't seem to exist

doesn't help that eBay doesn't let you do Boolean logic searches

yeah, tbh it's kind of ugly but still it will be cool to have a Crow figurine.

The Tom Servo one is just too ugly to want tho

I think if you put in -Funko it would take any Funko results on. But if the entry even mentions it like "Note: This is NOT funko!" it'd be excluded.
