there have been weeks where decisions came down to "but you didn't really bake the thing we asked"Toggle Spoiler, but for those they go on and on about it so there's not a surprise when the worse bakes stayToggle Spoiler.

i saw someone else mention paul won't shut up about her being french so everything is too french or not french enoughToggle Spoiler, and that seemed about spot on with his judging

the household is keen because the competition seems besides the point most of the time
i like feeling like i know a lot about swiss rolls, even though Safeway Bakery is the only upgrade i've had over L. Debbie

some of the sentences that are spoken as a result of this show are just incredible. there was a line last night something like, "Kim Joy's friend has been proving for 15 minutes"

Paul talking absolute shite about butter melting temperatures purely to get another French dig in there.

just finished season 8, really enjoyed the new hosts and judge, but from the semi onward i kinda stopped caring. pretty surprised at who won and it seems like it came down to kate not finishing her ginger biscuit deco, as her final cake was killer. nothing against sophie, i just didn’t think she ever really ‘nailed’ anything, but i guess consistency can do wonders. steven blew it with that final mess, but he seems like he’s been through some shit in his life and i was pulling for him up to that pointToggle Spoiler

I thought the weirdest comment of the episode was Noel saying "sounds like a porn star" to Manon mentioning her sister use to date a Danish guy. Bizarre.

Tough watching Kim-Joy cry while her showstopper was being picked apart after she underproved it, I hate that feeling and I was happy that there were some very sweet empathetic moments from Briony, Prue, and Sandi in there. Design wise, I thought her showstopper looked amazing (again).

I think I know what you mean murderhorn, Prue (at least in the editing) sometimes seems mildly anti-Briony, in the same way that Paul came off as mildly or outright anti-Manon as the season went on. Prue was definitely visibly annoyed with that preposterous open-faced sandwich slice Briony served this week

also he was trying to psych Ruby out about her water/flour ratio and hers was the best rye, he should acknowledge that he was wrong when offering praise for something that he tried to get the person to second guess herself about!!!!

wrong and/or just trying to ruin someone's confidence in themselves for drama's sake

he's just trying to create drama for the show. I think himself and pru were definitely told by the bake off overlords to go in guns blazing this week

except for his stunning, deep blue eyes I hate paul hollywood and he's probably a racist but I have no problem with drama being artificially created thru editing and paul/pru mind games. it's funny

can't remember if it was this week or last that Noel made a reference to looking into Paul's trailer or whatever and seeing him dressed up as (I forget) cuz I obviously the mind jumps straight to the memory of him dressed up as a nazi.

Kim-Joy reminds me of Luis from a few seasons back who was all about decorating. Last year for Halloween I made his windmill thing out of cardboard and just carried it around, it was a really good easy costume that was fun to make.
