Sometimes when they cut back to Kim Joy my GF and I say "Oh yeah, Kim Joy."

She's not dramatic, she just goes in there and does a good, cute job every week. She'll win I think. I wish she was my mum.

I really like KJ and this isn't a slam but there is something very odd and uncanny valley about her.

Shes like a mashup of a Gelfling and Janice from The Electric Mayhem.

i would love for anyone but rahul to win, but ruby is somehow my current favorite. kim joy is the most deserving.

it's too bad there weren't any canadians on for that timbit technical bake.

I was hard anti-Rahul when he was on his golden child streak but since he's come a bit back down to earth I've warmed up to him.
He captured the imagination of people all around the globe.

honestly i bet ruby will win but who knows

this is probably my favorite season of this show so far, really great assortment of personalities from the very start. its weird to remember not liking noel or sandi to me now as i like them at least as much as the previous hosts. prue >>>>> mary berry too which i didnt foresee

yeah I think ruby might have it in the bag. she's able to crank out v decent bakes even when under huge pressure, unlike kj and particularly rahul who are i think both better bakers than her, but seem to panic under pressure and mess things up a bit more

it took me a while to warm to ruby but now I like her a lot

I'd be happy with any of them winning tbh

I had thought Ruby was on borrowed time after almost leaving a couple times earlier in the season, but yeah she's been stepping it up the last few

Ruby's trajectory is basically like Liam's last season except she didn't get jobbed out of reaching the final. My money's still on Rahul to put it all back together in the final.

Was a shame to have the results in the semifinal be a foregone conclusion, Briony knew she was gone and so did everyone else.

But yeah what a great group this season.

ruby is painfully basic

it's a shame the finals arent manon (or Jon), rahul and KJ as they're obviously the most competent bakers. I know that part of this show's charms is that it doesn't have the same gross money/sponsorship pitfalls as american cooking shows, but i sort of think it'd be fairer and more good faith competition-wise to be able to rack up some kind of save-system based on past accolades so that the final ensures the best contestants hang on.

i’d like this too, though i know they sort of do this to judge two people who are literally tied for either star baker or to leave the tent (manon and rahul come to mind though that was extremely controversial and i think the editing was a bit pernicious for that episode)

plus with how often paul hollywood emphasizes how every week is a clean slate and bakers can’t rely on their past bakes it’s sure to ruffle the fan base if it were ever implemented

Good season, slightly disappointed by the ending. I felt either Ruby or KJ should have won; both seemed to do better overall than him in the last episode.

Also, an observation I had as I was bombing through the episodes in the last few days: the show seemed to be missing a lot of confident bakers in this season. Most of the bakers looked really down, worn-out, and self-doubting in every episode and I wonder if they've tightened the time limits to make everyone feel like they're struggling, for drama or whatever. I would prefer that they loosen the time requirements a little so that the bakers' visions can actually be realized rather than just playing "beat the clock" in every episode.
