XNPT - MS drug, FDA approval forthcoming, upward momentum, seems good for a quick pop
AVII - leading company in duchenne muscular dystrophy research, 40m cash and little debt, FDA phase 2 & 3 forthcoming, high institutional ownership
FOLD - lot of insider buying recently, was recommended to me a few months ago. would articulate on their functions but i have some stuff to get done before the end of the day

I bought around $1300 worth of AVII stock today, at the low (around 1.48), it's already up to 1.54 :)

I don't normally gamble of them, as they don't really generate revenue, it's purely speculative.

I have a UK 'Medical Related' stock, but it's profitable with a >2% Div Yield & a P/E ratio less than 15.

http://www.google.co.uk/finance?client=ob&q=LON:BQE

I think a good buy, for the price it is now, don't know if you invest in foreign markets, it's up 20% YTD.

how much do you pay in Brokerage fees per trade?

Trading is so expensive in the UK, plus if I trade US stock I need to pay like 1.75% FX on top of the brokerage fees :( + my broker only trades between 2.30pm & 4.30pm GMT for the US.

At least in the UK I have a special 'savings' tax free account, kind of like an IRA but you can withdraw the money anyime you want :)

i have some money just chilling in a low-interest credit union that i want to invest. gonna do my homework on companies and all that, not gonna do anything too risky, but i have no idea how to even set up an account or where to do it. is ameritrade chill? what do you use to actually buy and sell stuff?

I wasn't aware that you could withdraw from an IRA. Shame I can't get one, not being from the stats and all.

Looking forward to Monday for AVII!

eugh

In the study, a shorter duration of eteplirsen treatment, 12 weeks,
did not show a significant increase in novel dystrophin (0.79%
dystrophin-positive fibers as a percentage of normal; p-value NS),
despite administration of the drug at a higher dose (50mg/kg once
weekly). This finding suggests that a longer duration of dosing is
required before meaningful levels of dystrophin are produced. There
were no significant improvements in clinical outcomes in the treated
groups compared to placebo. Performance on the 6-minute walk test and
other outcome measures were generally stable across most of the
patients, including the placebo patients, suggesting that a longer
period of observation will be required to demonstrate clinical
effects of eteplirsen versus a placebo control.

unfortunate for my portfolio, but more broadly unfortunate because this could've been a pretty big breakthrough

ive been ignoring the stock board for a few days as ive been in cash...or buying and selling GLUU relentlessly.

market is just so toppy in terms of sentiment. even if we have another 50 s&p points, im gonna sit this out.

i had some accounts up 100% for the quarter.

think we have to retest at least the 50 day average. all of my favorite stocks have RSI readings over 80...this is just ridiculous.

You can withdraw direct contributions without penalty but you have to pay taxes (plus 10% penalty) on earnings if withdrawing before age 59 1/2.

yeah i'm pretty cautious right now. AAPL DIA and QQQ puts are looking more attractive with each uptick

i feel comfortable with my aforementioned tech stocks right now but am considering an exit. only upside for equities i'm looking at are in biopharmas, 80% of which is hype and 20% PDUFA results. sort of a crapshoot, but a profitable one if you put in time. OREX dipped under 4, wanted to get back in initially but with VVUS's FDA date coming up, there's a lot of risk there

http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/bo ... rd_id=9413 been following this dude for biopharmas for the past few weeks. his site is straight 1999 geocities but the guy is good.

oh well, you can't always win. Plus I'm probably just a bit too risk averse to get involved with these biopharm stocks in the future.
