There'll be no stampede on the Pearly Gates.
I'll say "After you" - you'll say "I don't mind the wait"

I have been singing it to myself for nearly thirty years now. Knowing there are other McAloon-ophiles puts a metaphorical spring in my step.

There's an interesting interview on the information freaking superhighway with the drummer who played on Swoon. The man is a freak and rumours abounded at the time of Pete Townsend hearing Swoon and offering The Who drumstool to the guy, but the interview reveals that he did Swoon as session work and basically didn't really get paid what he thought he was owed. So he bailed, an unhappy man.
Good.

Was by myself this Christmas watching the dogs and took a walk around 11 pm among completely still, lit up houses while listening to “Nightingales.” it was overwhelming.

This is the best PS boot I’ve heard. Really cool set list and the band sounds tight. I wonder if a FLAC or earlier gen exists.

some of it seems kinda... angry too? which makes sense since they're a band bred of the punk/post-punk/new wave whatever time. but i like how biting "don't sing" is

Hi there. First time poster, long time Sprout head.

Just wanted to add my two cents - I've never really given Nancy its proper due. The double ballad ending to Langley always felt like a slog to me. This song came up on my phone during my morning commute on the train and it resonated with me so hard. The turn w/ the background vocals when he says "Nancy let that fall off your shoulders" really does it for me. Beautiful arrangement, great tune.
