There are worse ways to spend the time, but not many.

I probably should've been more clear about pms. Oh well, next time.

Also, re: internetstrange's comments either here or in the other thread, I don't really like vigs, so I doubt I'll ever include them in games I run.

I did think about adding a bodyguard, but it was just a balancing issue, and I liked the idea of three masons, so that won out. I will probably include bodyguards in later games.

As a villager I probably wouldn't trust a single PM I got.

They're necessary for all the other roles.

with four seer guesses I named two wolves and two cursed

impossible to know how it would have gone if I hadn't revealed, but I think it would have been some time before I landed on gambra or mcphee, if I ever did

I had assumed that other groups like the masons were heavily messaging like we were. We moved from PM's pretty quickly though as the system just isn't designed for group over and backs.

I blew it pretty bad the last three day phases. Went after feral too hard, but my whole strategy prior to that had been to post somewhat believable but half-cocked theories, essentially overthinking other players' behavior and hopefully cast some doubt in anyone who read it. I don't know if it worked. But once feral got rid of surly (which, let's face it, he did for us) I went after him too hard. It was a bad play. I was worried about the fact that I hadn't voted for alice or stakeout, which I absolutely would have if I'd had the chance. The alice vote happened while I was working and I missed it, then a similar thing happened with the stakeout vote and by the time I could get involved I was desperately trying to message stakeout to give me his blessing but he didn't reply. Oh well. Sorry feral, I was kind of a bully with the surly stuff but I didn't mean any of it.

The only thing I enjoyed about my feral accusations was that I was accusing him of doing (successfully) what I had been trying to do (fairly unsuccessfully) the entire game

I mean obviously we took advantage of it, but it felt a little suspicious.

It would've served us right if he was lying.

No excuse, it was stupid. It felt like we were in the endgame and I thought it was a desperation move to create misdirection. Little did I know they were in control and had spreadsheet technology.

I certainly didn't respond to the PM.

Guys, this is a game of subterfuge. There's no reason that a diseased villager couldn't have done the same thing.

I mean, Luke didn't forbid it, so it wasn't cheating.

I think he should explicitly state some rules regarding communication with dead players next time.

yeah that's the one thing. Dead players basically should agree to be barred from communicating with players still in the game (and stay out of the fucking thread).

yeah I feel confused about this. wasn't the Cursed win condition (before being turned) to win as a villager?
