so that board Alice linked to on the other page is insane

I went down the rabbit hole a bit last night and this morning and they are crazy

they have multiple games going on at once, they built a web app for vote tallying and game sign up, they prefer smaller games it seems, they have way more public role claims and counterclaims, and they play crazy meta games with each other as I guess they've all played hundreds of games together, shits crazy

https://boardgamegeek.com/forum/58/boardgamegeek/werewolf

oh and they have a current harry potter themed game at 185 pages

haha, i just looked at this thread https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/145761 ... -test-game and was really confused how that game could have any skill at all before realizing it was a test game for their bot

Yeah I've looked around that site a bit too. They mostly seem to prefer simpler, smaller games with few roles, but on the other hand I've also seen sci-fi games there that have dozens of players, spaceship command hierarchies, missions and side missions, mechanics for food/drink/agriculture, and take place over multiple virtual locations. Really wild.

Here's the one I was thinking of:

:o

So if mine seems too complex when I eventually run it, keep in mind at least I'm not going to require you to maintain a water supply or keep track of slave rebellions.

location-based games are easier to run than they look and are REALLY fun. i played a Battle-Royale-themed one a few years ago where you would move between zones, "search" for weapons or consumable items, calculate hit chance based on distance, etc., and it was real fucking cool

I don't know, this was apparently decided by people last night so I was forced to change it. I originally had AS as #6, HP #7, the current short one #8, so Greek would be #9. But that was apparently too clean for people.

Your decision is a shitman and it disrespects the game you presided over!

A game with over 30 people and the record for back channel communication deserves recognition as a true game

I appreciate LODs advocacy for mine, the best ww game. But I'm also fine with it being so special it is considered it's own breed. 8-)

THANK YOU.

Remember that time people didn't think I could run a ww game and I busted out fucking character charts?

i think HPWW deserves respect, but I also think it can stand out as a special edition like Star Wars Monopoly or something
