WOLFMANS 15: RETURN TO RAJADA ~DAY 2 ENDS 7PMEST~

There are worse ways to spend the time, but not many.

It's pretty cryptic, did you have some brilliant insights?

Jodie Smalls tears out of the elementary school parking lot, dodging the minivans still trickling in, late for dropoff. She puts the radio on scan and punches the Home Depot preset on her GPS. It’s off to pick up her weekly shipment of pebbles and succulents, then out to the antique shop at town limits to see if they’ve got any old milk jugs or weathered mason jars in stock. Then lunch at Applebee’s, or maybe Cheesecake if she’s feeling wild.

“And breaking news from highway four-two this morning…” Shit, traffic? Jodie punches scan again turns the volume up.

“Father John Misty found dead…” Honeybear, noooo! Jodie has tickets to every Rajada date. This sucks. They have to offer a refund, right?

Well, at least that’s six hundo more in the bank til the settlement comes through. Going to be a Cheesecake day for sure.

Kip, props for yesterday, but Alice is a confirmed villager who guided us true before so it doesn't make sense to expect Rajada to ignore this. Is there anything you or other cabal members discussed with her that might have informed this accusation?

I think we need you to spell it out for us. How'd you settle on Planeman and why should we ignore the medium, who basically cast shade on you, drew, and Floyd?

No problem. It's John with an H, not Jonathan and Plain, not plane.

The UPS driver is confused to have the door answered by someone wearing a matched uniform of a different color. He gets as far as 'wend' before he finds himself back on his way to the van with all his papers signed and a baffled expression on his face.

Inside the house, the couriers work with atypical efficiency. They sort through file upon file of colored-pencil crime diagrams and pages upon page of meticulous notes. They unstack, restack, and unstack empties until finally deciding that two should be sidelined to recycling duty. In the basement, they root around in the dark, searching. It takes most of the day, but evenually the prize is located. Behind the glassed-in bottle of scotch with the 'In case of fire, break glass' hammer another chamber is revealed, and in it a dusty black case covered with travel stickers. It's father misty's secret guitar. They trek out of the house, making sure to leave everything neat and tidy as they found it. The courier who opened the door opens the box of colored pencils and set the pencils nicely on the coffee table in case Wendy decides to haunt and needs something to do. He then doubles back and picks up a few to take with, in case she haunts the guitar instead of the house.

Out in front of the house, two courier unfurl a wide banner that says

John Plainman

in angry red letters. Looking close, one of the unfurlers has a tear in his eye.

On the ride down the street, one of the couriers pulls aside to shake a warning finger and Skylar Smalls and his mother.

Ah, to have a horse, and gallop away, singing, to someone you loved perhaps, into the heart of all the simplicity and peace in the world; was that not like the opportunity afforded man by life itself? Of course not.

A herd of couriers are seen scurrying back into the EoPI house, chittering with fear.
