Virgin Werewolf (#16): WOLVES WIN

There are worse ways to spend the time, but not many.

This is the same Werewolf game that is alternately called Mafia (easily looked up on wikipedia). Yes, there is a home/party version you play in person. The online game Town Of Salem is sorta similar but it has a lot of goofy roles you're not going to see this time around that make it play out very differently.

The one night variant is the best one to play in person. The full version is very similar to one night except the game takes place over multiple nights which means you have player elimination.

I've been trying to figure out running a one night game in slack but I've not got my shit together yet. One night has role switching which is a fun dynamic

I'd recommend you talk to laserblast. He ran a quick game via slack on Christmas Day for us lonely folks and it went very well.

if i'm your coach i want you to win

that could mean getting you killed for the good of your team, but probably not

anyway all i'm gonna do is make suggestions! i almost definitely promise not to ban anyone for not listening to me.

if you ever change your mind and do want me to get you killed, join the next big game and i'll see what i can do

15 is our customary size for a basic/pure game (i.e. just villagers v. wolves with no special roles). Luke may run with a few less than that (or more if we get them), it's his call.

And strictly speaking you don't need to be a WW virgin for this. If you've only played once or twice before that's fine too, especially if you weren't sure what to do and didn't participate that much. Or if you haven't played in a long time, here's a chance to come back. We (I) just want a game without all the usual suspects because it's more fun when the cast changes. Also I've found this to be a really good icebreaker. Even if you end up not liking the game so much, you'll probably at least come out with a new board friend.

Alice's 90's/Faculty theme game is the next big one and it starts up in April. There might be another quick one in between that and this "rookie" game if somebody feels like running one.

I will also be available for "coaching" [you don't really need it] and am happy to have you pick my brain via Slack or Board PM, because this is ultimately a social game built around talking and meeting people and I like doing that and I want you all to have fun and come back for more. Plus, I'm going to be reading/watching anyway. :)

Last call for new players, I'm probably going to start assigning roles for a ten player game otherwise.

If anyone wants coaching on how to pass under the radar and survive until the end then hit me up. I'm running short sessions on white noise posts and time zone issues all weekend
